We chose it because of its historic look and as far as that side of it goes, it was beautiful. Very charming and authentic, but it definitely shows in the wear and tear in areas like the bathroom. Overall beautiful place in a very walkable area with plenty of places to eat/drink. Close to the ballpark

Great location for the convention centre and also downtown Gaslamp quarter and aside from Victor providing a great welcome, great service in the bar and the beautiful public areas, the room was small and cramped, the Internet was patchy at best making work impossible and the drainage in the bathroom certainly needed attention…disappointing as I had very much been looking forward to staying at this historic hotel

Very nice quaint property. Staff was very nice, especially Robert, the valet guy. He was older, but was very helpful and really hustled. Rooms are on the smaller size, but adequate. Electrical outlets in the room were somewhat scarce. Lots of streaming TV choices although intermittent pausing was sometimes annoying. Easy walking distance to Petco Park & PHX Arena. Overall, a very nice place to stay.

The entire staff was amazing, attentive and welcoming. I especially appreciated Robert the valet. This property is well maintained, clean, great central location downtown and perfect for a work stay. I will definitely be back.

Location & staff excellent (but noisy hotel)

Unfortunately we had a mixed experience during our 4 night stay at The Horton. Positives: staff (particularly victor), the location is amazing (walking distance to pretty much everything), cleanliness, hotel bar, WiFi Negatives: possibly the noisiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Staff hoovering the courtyard first thing in the morning (which amplifies the sound), creaky floorboards in which it sounds like the person upstairs is in your room with you. And if you are unluckily enough to have someone who doesn’t sleep in the room above, and it sounds like they are trying to increase their step count for 9 hours overnight, you will have an extremely sleep deprived night!

We arrived very early (noonish) from the airport and were expecting to wait for our room. They quickly checked us in and we were in our room within 10 minutes of arriving. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and interesting to walk through. Great history of the hotel. Found everything to be immaculate. Close to Petco park which is why we were there. We found a great little place for breakfast (Cafe 222) just a few short blocks away and a Ralph’s a couple blocks further. They also give you one coupon per person for a drink at their bar and 20% off their restaurant. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality.

Charming, clean, great location and the staff were REALLY friendly and helpful. Cute restaurant and bar onsite. Our SD trip was amazing and it was awesome to come back to this hotel every night.

Beautiful historic building. Absolutely loved the courtyard area, especially at night. Bed was very comfortable & having a fireplace in the room was a cozy touch. Cashed in our complimentary drinks tickets at the onsite bar. Very nice bar & dining area, drinks were good, service was slow though. Would definitely stay at this location again.
