Really nice newish hotel. The spa facilities are top notch and a great way to relax. There isn't much going on in the area around the property, but the metro is very close.

The hotel was a pleasant discovery. Didnt expect it to be so beautiful and so well themed. A very warm welcome at the reception by the team, we have got our room straight away, which is amazing. You feel welcomed and expected. Property is very clean and well maintained. Room is amazing. Spacious, comfortable, big panoramic windows and view on the river side. Loved tropical theme of the hotel and our room. Thank you to the housekeeping for making it clean for our arrival. I liked, that they have green initiative and no cleaning in daily basis. Only when you really need you can request. Shower gel and soap is amazing, even purchased for myself (at the reception you can buy it). SPA is superb. Amazing tropic sauna, finnish sauna and steam. All also decorated as tropical theme. Swimming pool is small. Gym is fine, you have all you need for your fitness holiday routine. Restaurant is great, but would not reccomend steak, but carpaccio, seafood, oysters are great. Bar is great and even you can order any cocktail of your choice even if its not on the menu. Hotel is 2 min walk to the train station and you can reach in 10 min the center. Very easy, very convenient. Loved our stay and definitely will be back.

The junior suite was lovely with a great view of the Amstel canal. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant was also very tasty and a good price point. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Romantic weekend for two and it was exactly that. We spent the day exploring Amsterdam and then the evening in the hotel spa. Breakfast had a wide selection. I opted for the freshly cooked omelette plus more. Can’t fault the Van Der Valk Amstel. Metro station literally 5min walk. Johnny Rivers cafe opposite with the best vibes and good lunch option if not eating in hotel

Average hotel, not many non alcoholic choices in the bar and the restaurant and breakfast service is overpriced. also was strange that the shower area in the family suite did not have a door i.e the showering area was completely open.
