the shared bathroom was kind of dirty and smelly even. I stayed in private bedroom but i would not go back due to the shared bathroom and shower. The showerhead didn't come out with a lot of water and it made me to not want to shower there

The stay was great !! Only thing that threw my son and I off was the bathrooms . Women showers had a stahl door plus the glass door but my son the mens only had a curtain. So that part made him a little uncomfortable. I think bathrooms should have the stahl door and glass door!

Great lodging experience in Chicago & much cheaper

This is the best lodging experience! It's very social and democratic with wonderful lounges and a community atmosphere. And the price is MUCH more reasonable than any normal hotels in the summer. There is a community kitchen where guests can cook their own breakfast and staff work side by side with guests washing dishes that guests collect and bring to them. Best of all, there was lots of conversation and laughter in the dining room and kitchen. Heard that this hostel is being threatened with "development". NOT ACCEPTABLE! This is lodging as it should be - more social, less waste, less exploitation to line the pockets of rich people.

The bed was very bad. No attached washroom. Common washrooms are far away. Not mentioned about it at the time of booking. Very limited items in complementary breakfast. All put together it was a bad experience.

The Getaway away is the best Hostel I've ever been. Lol, It was the only one My wife and I ever been. I love the community aspect of the whole. And the was a free breakfast 😋 ☺️ 😌 🤗. Great place. My wife and I will be staying again. Thanks Geaway.

The room was clean and the bed comfortable. My only complaints are: 1. there is no railing for the front steps to get into the hostel and 2. The breakfast is very minimal. You have your choice of cereal, oatmeal or preade waffle you can put in the toaster. No fruit or yogurt or pastries. For someone who is lactose intolerant, I ended up having the waffles each day, which did not help my blood sugar.
