Hotel Borges Chiado offers an excellent stay in the heart of Lisbon, combining convenience, comfort, and lively surroundings. The hotel’s central location makes it a perfect base for exploring the city—just steps away from major attractions, local restaurants, shops, and nightlife. The vibrant atmosphere of Chiado is enhanced by live street music every day, adding to the charm of the area. Rooms are serviced daily, kept clean, and surprisingly quiet considering the lively neighborhood outside. The soundproofing works well, ensuring a good night’s rest even with the energetic street scene below. Breakfast each morning is well-prepared and satisfying, offering a nice variety to start the day. The only significant drawback during the stay was an occasional unpleasant odor in the Hotel. It seems to be due to a plumbing issue, possibly related to the use of accordion PVC pipes in lieu of P-traps beneath the sinks. While this didn’t ruin the overall experience, addressing it would greatly improve comfort.

Location is exceptional - close to several historical sites, restaurants and stores. Breakfast buffet was very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms and hotel clean and safe. Two historic restaurants have terrance areas adjacent to the front door.

Location was bustling. Excellent restaurants nearby. Hotel is dated. They seem to be trying to make improvements but are cutting corners.

No tea or coffee in room just fruit teas. 2lifts but 1 out of order, meant waiting as hotel busy and often full. Breakfast ok but seating difficult as when sat on the long shared tables meant getting up to let people pass to go to buffet catering. Location great , easy access to metro and quality shops.

There were cockroaches in the bathroom; I complained twice with the front desk. I wrongly paid upfront, tried to move to other hotel. there were plenty around the area and cheaper of what I have paid per night (250 euros), they told me that can't refunded. The room is completely outdated; it looks like I traveled back to the 80's. No remote control for the TV. Extremely disappointed.

Extremely poor customer service. I forgot something in the room I stayed in and called the hotel. Twice the person picked up the phone and hung up on me. Third time she picked up and shouted to call back in 5 minutes. When I called back, no one picked up (and I tried calling back up to 30 minutes after with no luck). The location of the hotel was good but with rude staff like that, I will definitely be going somewhere else next time I am in Lisbon.

breakfast is good. ac good. convenient to everything. staff is good. early bag storage available. you are literally in the heart of Lisboa Chiado area. walking distance to everything metro, tram, metro to aeroporto. no taxi ever needed. the drawback to that is it is noisy as heck at night. its a sacrifice conveneience but carry earplugs for sleep

The property was on a wonderful square that was close to all. There was also musicians that performed in the square that added to the fun. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel for a fun stay in Lisbon!

Great location yet showing its age

Hotel is located in a great location. Hotel service is great but the room showed its age. I believe rooms get renovated one at a time so I can’t speak on behalf of all rooms. Had issues with ac not connecting with remote. Shelf in shower was missing. Head board showed a lot of wear and furniture also showing its age. Biggest negative about room for my wife would be the lighting in the washroom, very dark.

Our stay was very comfortable and a good value for the $$. Our room/bed were very nice/comfortable. The location was fantastic, with the Metro right outside the door, and it being right next to two public squares, where street musicians would play every evening. Very nice cafe next door, where we ate breakfast every morning. Did I mention, what a great location? Stay here, you won't regret.
