Lovely small hotel next to the castle, very comfortable bed and room with free tea, coffee and water all day and cakes, breakfast is very good with big choice of cooked, meats and cheeses and fruit. Only niggle is no water provided in the room Room service food choice small but very nice and good value. Taxi from main Square to hotel is approximately 5€, well worth it because it is steep hill to walk up

Gorgeous location. Very convenient to different sites. Peacocks in the AM. Note: The hotel is on top of a hill. But, then again, if you're in Lisbon, you're going to be walking

Lovely stay

Our stay at was fantastic! The staff were friendly, room was very clean, and decor thoughtfully curated. It is located in a quiet neighborhood of Alfama so it is lovely at the end of a long day. Ubers or taxis are not able to pick you up directly at the hotel so keep in mind it is a 7 minute walk to pickup point.

Loved everything about this place. Staff was great and the breakfast was above average. No refrigerator in the room, but just asked for ice and the staff filled a bucket. The peacocks were not that loud. Had a great time. Thanks Henri and staff.

The hotel is delightful and full of charm. Unfortunately when we arrived they were doing renovations and using toxic chemicals with poor ventilation. I know renovations have to be done but not to warn guests and to be quite grumpy when the issue is pointed out is poor performance. That said they very quickly arranged for us to stay at their sister hotel where we had an excellent stay. I'm sure in peak season the place is beautiful.

Beautiful building by the castle with antique furniture and decor. Great breakfast. Free wine in the lobby every evening. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location by the castle and old town was excellent. Overall one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in.

Fantastic

Fabulous hotel in the heart of the old town - next to the castle walls. Pick up from the airport was seamless and very quick to the hotel up some very narrow streets (if you are taking a cab make sure they can get inside the city walls) We arrived before check in and were offered breakfast at no extra charge and left our bags with reception. We we told we could check in at 1.00pm and so returned to get in straight away with bags in the room already. We had a complementary bottle of local sparkling wine in an ice bucket which was delicious. The room was spacious (no3 - Alfama room) with views to the side and back courtyard. The room was comfortable with all the amenities you would expect. Good plentiful breakfast with lots of options to choose from. An honesty bar for a late drink in the lounge / terrace which was very welcome. A brilliant hotel in the heart of the old town with great service and some lovely extra touches which made for a memorable stay. Highly recommended.

The property itself is very nice. Just know that it’s located and the residential section which is the oldest part of the city so cobblestone streets, which can be confusing at night if you’re trying to get back to the hotel.

Disappointed- the room is dated and drab. Dark and small. Mould round shower. Not Luxury as sold on Expedia! Staff seem miserable. Breakfast not bad but same. Overall I would rate this a 3* and not value for what you pay.
