Nice Hotel, decent rooms, good location, hot room!

Positives: Reception staff very friendly | Hotel was in great location - 5 mins from Underground station and right across the road from Kensington Park. Lovely area. Very close to Notting Hill. Vibrant area. Room was on the small side but well appointed and more than adequate for our requirements during our stay. Didn't eat in the hotel. We had a disappointing over priced Aperol Spritz in the bar on the 1st night. Negatives: Our room on arrival was incredibly hot despite it being no more than 15 degrees outside. Even stepping out the lift in to the corridor leading to the room was very hot. We had a dinner reservation so put on the AC in the room and hoped it would cool down but no luck. On return, room was still unbearably hot. Reception brought up a fan and looked at AC and assured us room would cool down. It didn't! We were so tired after a days travelling so went to bed but had a very restless and sweaty night! It was like sleeping in a room in Italy in July with no Air con! I contacted reception in the morning and asked to be put in a different room. In their defence, staff were again helpful and moved us to a room on the 1st floor. What a difference! Air con worked and room was very cool and we slept well. Shame we couldn't have had this the 1st night! In hindsight, for what we were paying per night, I should have insisted on swapping room before going to bed on 1st night. Dissapointed that no compensation was offered. Had to pay for the spritz too!

Hey, the alarms *work*!

A functional room; couldn’t get the heating to turn off despite clear directions. Great sized bathroom, comfy bed. I was unfortunately awoken four times to a rogue fire alarm in the dead-middle of the night (as we all were) but honestly I was more comforted that the alarms WERE working. Front desk was very kind about it. Front desk was actually brilliant the whole time.

Great location

Great location, right opposite to the entrance of Hyde Park. Hotel reception staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was nice. Cafe staff were friendly but service wasn’t the quickest.

Ideal location with Hyde Park across the street and buses right outside the door. Our room was very small which was ok but woken up at 6:30 am to someone vacuuming. Toilet was running constantly and shower didnt drain so we had a small flood. Housekeeping knocking on our door at 8:15 am to clean room. No peace.

I really enjoyed this property. It was my first time in London. The staff was very helpful, they served my room daily, gave me a nice breakfast option daily. When my flight home was canceled due to a transformer fire near Heathrow, they extended me for 2 days at fair price.I highly recommend this place

We stayed here for six nights before traveling to Edinburgh for three days. Initially, we didn’t book an additional two-night stay in London because we were considering other areas. However, we decided to return to this hotel because we liked its location and comfortable accommodations. During our stay, renovations were underway, which made it a bit noisy, but it was manageable. When I mentioned my disappointment about not being informed of the hallway renovations, the front desk staff sincerely apologized and offered us complimentary breakfast for two days. Since we usually go out for brunch, we didn’t think we would use it, but when we tried it the next day, we were pleasantly surprised.

Great hotel and area

Excellent location - tube stations a couple of minutes walk. Lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. Small supermarkets a few minutes walk. Leisurely walk through Kensington gardens to Knightsbridge. Staff very helpful and polite. Rooms quiet, clean and modern and a decent size. Bathroom clean and modern with a lovely hot shower with good water pressure! Crabtree toiletries - shower gel, body lotion, shampoo and conditioner. I would definitely stay in this hotel at this location again. The area has a lovely quiet, safe feel but lots around you to do and quick underground links to other areas of London.
