Horrible. Will give them gratitude for canceling our reservation because once we checked in & saw the state of the room and how the hotel is run we knew we could not stay. The reviews and pictures online were very deceiving.

The room was very clean. I was comfortable for the 12 nights I stayed there. Very close to Paddington Station. I felt safe. The towels are very small, the pillows were really big and uncomfortable to sleep on. The window didn’t close easily, but I managed to get it closed by standing on the chair. Other than that, the staff was very accommodating and friendly. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I took a "deluxe single room" in December (outside temperature was low 40sF. TINY room, poorly laid out. No nightstand, no room to use the luggage rack provided, closet door hung to open the wrong way so nearly impossible to use. The "twin bed" was the narrowest, shortest twin I've every seen--feet hung over the end, (I am 5'5" tall) and the comforter was so tiny and thin that if you laid on your side, it left gaps. Room was in the basement and the hallways and room were freezing. It took HOURS for the tiny room to heat. It was clean, good soap/shampoo products. They could really step up their game with some small improvements if you can tolerate the cell-like size of the rooms. Suggest that you stay at the Athena instead--better beds/bedding, better layout, better breakfasts.

Room was clean, all items needed were there such as hair dryer, tea/coffee facilities but it’s the smallest room I’ve ever stayed in. We had to lean back or forward to walk around the bottom of the bed as there was only a small amount of room to squeeze past the TV on the wall at the bottom of the bed. Curtains were quite dated but they blocked the sun out so managed a lie in on both mornings.

Room Windows were open unable to close after a struggle and help from receptionist and maintenance guy it was eventually closed , heating system wasn’t working despite of help the receptionist promised will get it fixed we can go for dinner when arrived at 1030 PM there were 2 guys no clue asking me did you check the room if heating not working he can provide a portable heater eventually Mr Receptionist came with me and with some effort manage to turn on heating in toilet and room but there was no appologies or understanding of the problem there view was windows closed and heating now working after multiple attempts and promises and request at 2230 when asked can I speak with manager he said she is not a available can write an e mail what a quality of room and service and so called 4 star where freezing weather windows can’t be closed and no heating for bathroom and room Even we asked to contact manager on Monday she was not Available Ask to call her they don’t have her phone Left a message to call back she didn’t bother

Room was tiny and tired-looking. Mechanical unit (heat?) was grinding and whistling on-and-off all night. Mattress was too soft but pillow was perfect. Also on the plus side, the room was very clean and the location only a short walk from Paddlington station.

The good: the staff were incredible. Antonio at the front desk especially was wonderful and tried to be as helpful as possible. The bad: a rat appeared in my room from somewhere near the window and radiator so there must have been a hole. When I came running out they told me “it’s gone now so you’re fine”. Not sure how that’s a solution. I asked to be moved to another room or one of their sister hotels, unfortunately no space. But considering I booked this through Expedia, they should have helped me. They were rude, demeaning and very difficult to get support from. Although in the end I did get support, I’ll say Expedia was less than ideal about this situation. The hotel staff, again, were great. Except for one grumpy night shift guy who claimed I was making it up for a room upgrade. But I had just received an upgrade because my first room had flies coming into it from the sink. So why would I “allege” there was a rat in my nice upgraded room? Makes no sense.
