Food options were limited in the area. The room was not what I expected, especially compared to the photo…..it was much smaller. There was no elevator and our room was on the top floor, so we had to tote heavy suitcases up many very narrow stairs. Would not recommend.

I will definitely stay here again. The best thing about Cartwright Gardens was it's proximity to the tube, busses, and trains (St. Pancras/King's Cross Station is a 10 minute walk), as well as the British Museum, British Library, Trafalgar Square, etc. The accommodations themselves are delightful. Small, of course, but containing everything needed for a comfortable and affordable stay. The kitchens have basic necessities-dishes, cutlery, pots, pans, dish soap and cloths. Lots of storage space for unpacking. A fan, safe and blowdrier in the wardrobe. Ironing and laundry facilities in the basement. I stayed here in July and it could get hot without air-conditioning. The window opens onto the street, facing a small park with tennis courts. As there is a language school across the way, the park and courts could get noisy at night, with the young adult language students hanging out there and other youth having loud conversations. If sleeping with a small fan and closed window isn't your scene, I'd recommend an air conditioned unit. That said, the street and area are gorgeous. Big trees, quiet mornings, beautiful heritage buildings. Even wildlife! Keep an eye out for the green parakeet that lives in one of the trees near the tennis court. The staff are friendly and willing to help in any way they can. One lent me their French Press for the week, which was a godsend. Again: highly recommended.

We had three rooms for six persons. All were unique. One was much hotter on the third floor. The others were ground level and stayed cooler. Bathrooms were tiny and need better lighting. I thought the booking had A/C, so was disappointed. No elevators. Lobby is supposed to be manned at all times but I visited multiple times on Sunday trying to get towels and found it closed for many hours.

Home away from home

We had a lovely stay--felt like we had a home in London for a few weeks. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the place was kept very clean. My only warning is that the room is very small for a long stay. There was no place to be other than to lie in bed. The kitchen facilities were very useful, but the sink was in an odd place.

Great property and great location. Property is clean and tidy and has everything you could need. There is also a washing machine and dryer that can be used free of charge. Location is close to buses and trains. It’s a quiet area and as a solo female traveller I felt very safe. Be mindful that this property has no lift.

Clean and quiet , close to tube and train stations .I had a room at the back of the hotel and it was lovely and quiet , downside is it is no where near as big as it looks on the photos and the bathroom is tiny .No air con so it was stuffy in the warm weather .

Great Hotel and Staff

Stayed 2D1N in the standard studio and it was really spacious and clean. Lots of storage and comes with basic utensils/ equipment like a microwave etc. Staff was also amazing and accommodating when we wanted to book another night at the last minute - Shoutout to Angie!

Nice enough apartment in a good location. Sadly let down by an extractor fan that sounds like a tractor engine, and diabolical TV service on an outdated TV.
