Good but not excellent

Excellent location. Walking distance from underground station and with a Sainsbury’s right in front. Nice restaurants nearby. Friendly and helpful staff. However, the room was dark, with insufficient lights to brighten it. Also, the frigobar was not working.

In need of renovation

This hotel must have been lovely ten years ago. Looking tatty and very well-used now. Still comfortable, rooms still big and airy and it felt safe. A lick of paint and replacing the fittings would make a huge difference. Also not ideal for transport links but the local area is very nice.

The rooms desperately need renovation. The furniture is old, the wood surfaces are scratched beyond belief, walls are dirty, light bulbs but working, bathroom is functional but very old. Bed linen is clean and floors clean but it’s desperately old and tired and all rather depressing. Breakfast was just about OK and £20 for London price as expected but relatively small choice. Staff all very polite and friendly. Great location for Bermondsey High St and walkable to London Bridge station and the river. Won’t be back unless it has a major refurb.

The room can get too warm even when adjusting the thermostat so that made it less comfortable especially at night but there were nights during our stay when the weather was cooler. But the convenience of having a grocery store in front of the hotel , plenty of dining places , and a quick walk to and from the London Bridge station made our stay i this hotel worth our while . Also staff is very accommodating , respectful and helpful .
