There is extensive refurbishment work being undertaken to the hotel but this was not identified at the point of booking which is a bit deceptive from the hotel. I turned up yesterday to find the hotel clad in scaffolding. Once checked in I had to abandon my room during the afternoon due to the noise created by the guys working on the roof. I had to cancel my online meetings as it was impossible to work with the noise. This morning I was woken by people walking back and forth across the roof moving equipment back and forth at 7.30am. This was promptly followed by more drilling at 8.01am! Not a great experience and one that should have been declared at the point of booking.

The property was covered by scaffolding and Tarp. They offered a free drink for the inconvenience. Having said that they still billed us for them ( fifty two pounds ) for glass of wine and a Gin and Tonic Outrageous! Would not stay there again although it was a good location being Mayfair.

This was my second stay at The Chesterfield and was once again a great experience. Staff is friendly and there to help with anything you may need. The rooms are good-sized for London and beds are very comfortable, housekeeping service is great and room was very tidy. The area is so convenient, nice quiet street but walkable and close to underground station. Will be back again next time I am in London.

In a word, Divine

If God came to London for a visit, he'd stay at the Chesterfield. It is as close to perfect as it is physically possible for a hotel to be. Service such as I haven't seen in a decade or more, like it used to be. Your every need not just catered to but anticipated and regally proffered. From the bell captain to the Reception desk to the wait staff in the restaurants to the pianist in the bar. Magnificent describes it. You can't stop smiling.

Best hotel for the money
