I have stayed at lots of Hoxton's around the world, and this specific one on multiple occasions. One of the key components of the "Hoxton magic" is its staff. This trip, at this location, everyone felt really sullen and just a bit grumpy. We were celebrating our recent wedding with family and friends and every other place we stayed the staff went above and beyond to make it an incredible experience. This was not the case at the Hoxton.
In addition, we asked if the room was close to the elevators as we are both light sleepers, the check in staff said no, and it "doesn't matter anyway because the rooms are soundproof". Our room was immediately next to the elevator, and having heard the person in the room next to us consistently, can assure the person that the rooms are not soundproof. I stayed at this hotel a year ago and the bed was very creaky, and a year later, still creaky. Honestly, disappointing. I LOVE the Hoxton brand and have had so many great experiences, this was 100% not one of them.
