Return visit

We have stayed here multiple times. The last time was not a great experience. The hotel was super dirty and smelled like weed everywhere. So when we decided to book another trip, I was hesitant to choose this hotel. I am so glad I did! I don’t know if they renovated or what, but the hotel was way cleaner and we rarely smelled weed. The rooms were very comfortable. The bathrooms are a little small in the regular rooms, but they are clean and functional. I was also very impressed with the front desk staff. Last time they weren’t always nice and acted like I was a nuisance when checking in. This time, the staff was so friendly and helpful. The hotel is easily within walking distance to the parks.

Great location and friendly staff. We were there for universal. It would have been nice if there were more shuttle return times and if we could have booked our shuttle times at check in. The bathroom was a little dirty and our towels weren’t cleaned after the first night.

Decent budget hotels in need of repair

Here’s an updated version of your review: I was extremely disappointed with my recent stay at the Holiday Inn and Suites. While the location is convenient to the park, the overall experience was far from enjoyable. First and foremost, 4 out of the 5 elevators were broken for most of our stay, leading to long waits and crowded rides—completely unacceptable, especially when you’re staying in a suite. The water pressure in the room was barely enough for a proper shower, adding further frustration. On top of that, the accommodations were extremely dated and in desperate need of upgrades. The daily parking fee was surprisingly high, and because the shuttle service doesn’t run late, we were forced to pay for parking at the park as well—an unexpected and unnecessary expense. For the price I paid, I expected far better. Between the broken elevators, subpar amenities, and additional costs, I can’t recommend staying here until they address these serious issues. Let me know if this works!

When we checked in, the lobby looked very nice, but as soon as you get off the elevator you start to see how disgusting it was. My son went in to the room and got stuck as the door handle was broke and wouldn't open from the inside. You can see old mold in the tile grout, carpet looked nasty and the room had a moldy smell to it. We were so tired we didnt complain as we checked in at 2 am and was only staying for a quick nap before we hit the road home.

Very run down hotel. They gave us a room in the beginning that was not cleaned. The bathroom shower still had hair in it, dirty used soap. When we called front desk they asked to see the room. When the women saw the room all she said was all the rooms are cleaned. Clearly they are not cleaned. Stay away!

We had a nice stay. The only issue was the water pressure in the bathroom and then there was no hot water for one night. The staff communicated with us directly with the issue and was trying their best to accommodate us with the issue. This is not the first time we have stayed here and it will not be the last. The staff was very nice and helpful. The cleanliness was not the greatest, but you can see that people were constantly cleaning and fixing. In the end, it was perfect for my family considering it was literally across the street from Universal Studios which was where we spent most of the time anyway.

Upon arrival i was informed that there was no hot water. Everyone wanted a shower. They waived a 17$ resort fee for me but still had to pay almost 30$ for parking. They said i can stay somewhere else if i liked, i already paid through Hotels.com and canceling would not give me my money back. Gave me a free breakfast coupon but we left way before i could use it.
