My flight to San Diego was diverted to Palm Springs because of fog. I was really tired as I’m still recovering from surgery but quickly booked myself a room at Palm Springs Hotel and Uber’d over. It was just before 10:30pm and it was dark and Palm Springs uses minimal street lights at night. It was difficult to find the main entrance and when I found the front door it was locked. There is a call box at the front door so I tried that several times and it would just ring and ring. I also tried calling on the phone and they never picked up after several attempts. Luckily my Uber driver was kind enough to wait for me and drove me to three hotels before I found one with vacancy. An hour later I contacted hotels.com to get a refund and they also tried calling the hotel with no luck. No doubt it’s a great hotel when they’re there but I hate that I was a solo woman on an unlit street trying to get in and was left with nowhere to stay

This is not a typical 4 star hotel that was presented in Expedia. It has no entrance, you have to find the closed door and ring to speak with someone. It has minimal reception no restaurant, limited space on the side of the street for parking (5 stalls). All rooms are situated around a small pool, where loud music is played till late in the evening. It is more like a motel than a 4 star hotel.

Stay away!! The manager Jeffrey who greeted me was very rude. I arrived a bit early for check-in, and he said I couldn’t use the pool because it was for the previous night’s guests, and it’s a small hotel with few guests, blah, blah. First I heard of this in my life. Then later I looked out, and it’s a big pool with lots of seating. Then I just asked out of curiosity if there was a bar and good service at the pool (since it’s supposed to be 4-star). Again, he just replied “NO! it’s a property of X number of people. You can buy beer, etc from our snack area.” I was blown away by such rude and condescending treatment upon arrival. And to be in some queue for the pool?! Basically put immediate parameters on my stay like I was serving him. The room was decent, bed super comfy. No blackout curtains, noisy. The shower head was awful, with water coming out like trickles because it must not have been cleared about with the hole openings. The woman who assigned my room said it was the only room left, was her 2nd day, and with the previous service, it wasn’t worth asking for any help. Nice hotel **on the surface** but flawed and toxic experience.

This property is HUGE, the guidance from staff was not as helpful finding the location. It was like a studio apt. The balcony was nice and private but the rooms are dated. If you’re looking for luxury this isn’t it, but it’s clean, safe, and comfortable. There was no clear explanation of amenities like breakfast, things happening in the center etc. check in & out was easy.

I ecently stayed at the most charming little escape—and it absolutely delivered on all fronts. The bungalows were spacious, bright, and had that clean, airy feel that instantly makes you feel at home. Major bonus: they were spotless! The pool area was a total vibe—super cute, with gorgeous views and the kind of relaxed atmosphere that makes you lose track of time (in the best way).
