Our recent stay did not meet the level of quality or hospitality we expected. We arrived approximately 21 minutes prior to the stated check-in time and hoped to check in slightly early if the room was ready. Unfortunately, this was not possible. While we understand policies around check-in times, we were disappointed to learn that early check-in was unavailable without an additional fee, even if the room may have been ready. 21 minutes is not a time allowance that would warrant a fee. The room itself appeared aesthetically tired. There was chipped paint in the bathroom, the mattress felt like cardboard and the bathroom door did not close securely without significant effort. These issues contributed to the overall impression that the room fell below the standard we anticipated. We would normally choose to dine on-site; however, given the missing elements of expected hospitality and the overall condition of the room, we opted not to do so. The experience felt more in line with a budget-value accommodation rather than the quality advertised. We hope this feedback is taken constructively and used to improve the guest experience going forward

Staff on reception were very efficient and helpful with my queries. The room was claen and comfortable. The only niggle was no.plug sockets either side if the bed though their are USB this didn't help as I had a C connection. The bathroom looked a bit 'tired' and could do with a refit. The bar and staff were very good. Breakfadt was excellent with a wide range of choice.

The room was dated and had a musty smell. The heating was broken and it was absolutely freezing - the best they could do was provide an extra duvet. We arrived at 1PM and were turned away to come back at 3PM without even checking if the rooms were ready. No bottled water in the room.
