Very nice adults only resort. The landscaping is beautiful and the accommodation clean and quiet. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I could live without the music by the pool but that's just me. I loved the animals, trees and flowers on the property. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed staying.

We just got back from our trip Jan 21, 2025. We were very impressed with OMR. You cannot beat the price for what you get. There are many really great things that stand out at this Hotel, let me go over quickly. Its a really safe property. There is security at the main gate and nobody just wanders on the premises. We drove our own car and im glad we did! Parking was free and wow, parking about 30 yards away. Bellhops and staff were always helpful-be kind and tip. Just a few bucks here and there go a long way. The staff really does a good job. Check in process a breeze, we did not do the upgraded Privilege plan. The grounds are really pretty. The Landscape is beautifully maintained. The Hotel itself is in nice shape. not perfect but there is always some kind of repairs going on. The rooms are clean and a good size. The layout of the place is nice. The restaurants are really good. The buffet is above average with no wait at all. The other specialty places such as Italian, Mexican food were absolutely delicious. Get reservations for the Japanese one. The bars are enough to satisfy. The drinks are mid grade? Grey goose, bacardi, Dos XX, Corona, Tecate etc. The choices are just perfect for me and the Mrs. The drinks are great, even a little strong at times. A 10$ tip the first day and you will not be forgotten. The beach and pool area are awesome. Very nice and clean with a swim up bar, soo cool! The beach is super nice and accessible. WE WILL BE BACK FOR SURE

Not a 5-Star Hotel – Disappointing Experience I stayed at this hotel expecting a true 5-star, all-inclusive experience, but it was anything but that. If I had read an honest review like this one beforehand, I would have never wasted my money here. While some guests seem to be enjoying their stay—likely because their standards are lower—this is not a luxury property. At best, this is a 2- to 3-star hotel. Here are the major issues I experienced: 1. Outdated Facilities: The property feels old and outdated, with no modern touches or luxury features you’d expect from a 5-star hotel. 2. Terrible Food: The food is absolutely subpar. Many dishes seem to be reused and moved from the buffet to the “special” restaurants, which were supposed to be better. There’s no freshness or quality at all. 3. Water Bottle Limitations: This was shocking. Water bottles are limited to two per day per room, even if you ask for more. It’s absurd that you can have unlimited alcohol but not enough water. The tap water tastes terrible, like melted ice, and is not a suitable replacement. 4. Service Issues: The service was disappointing, and it was surprising how few staff members spoke English, making even basic communication difficult. 5. Ridiculous Rules: For example, the Mexican restaurant wouldn’t let my family of four sit outside together, insisting we split in

Fantastic time at this beautiful property! Not too big, not too small. Everything was clean and well maintained. We stayed in building 10 which was the perfect location! 30 second walk to the beach and pool. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the service was excellent! I can’t say enough about my incredible stay at Ocean Maya Royale! From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The resort itself is stunning—a beautiful beach, pristine gardens, and a truly relaxing atmosphere. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and had a great view of the garden. One of the standout parts of my trip was the service. The experience team truly went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable! A big thank you to Carlos, Viridiana, Kenddell, and Dali for all their incredible attention to detail and personalized care. They were friendly, approachable, and always there to make our stay as fun as possible. I also loved how they made sure to keep the atmosphere relaxed but fun, with live music and entertainment each night. Great resort. The only issue we had was that the AC was way too cold but that could have been user error. We got the Privilege package and the perks with that were worth the extra money. Our butler, David was awesome! He took care of all our needs.

Overall, a good resort. Loved the bali beds in the privilege area. The food and drinks were only ok. Wasn't wowed by it and wouldn't choose to come back. Decent price though for the experience provided. Amazing staff, very accommodating. Beach was very clean. Grounds of resort were well maintained.
