Absolutely! Love Playa del Carmen... Unfortunately the beaches were hit with really bad sarcasm seaweed... It looks like they're making a lot of efforts to clean it up.. would definitely stay here again?

This is my 4th time staying at this Riu Riviera Maya Hotel and it was not a disappointment once again. I highly recommend it. The staff is overly pleasant and the hotel itself is very nice and clean. The night shows are very nice. It's like 20 min walking to downtown Playa del Carmen. I highly recommend it.

Not recommended !!! Boring no shows, food in the restaurants terrible!!!! Pools disgusting and dirty!!! Adult pool closed at 5:30 !! Beach is horrible!! All seaweed collected and terrible smell!!! Don’t spend your money for in this place!!!

The original reservation was changed to another hotel. The front desk's response was that the room wasn't ready and that it might take a while, but that was said after check-in. At that point, we decided not to change hotels. Some time later, they said the room might be delayed, that the other hotel was better, and that they would give us a super suite with an extra bed because they didn't have rooms with two beds. Why did they accept a reservation specifically made with two beds? When we decided to accept it because we were tired of waiting, they moved us to the Riu Mexico hotel. They gave us a suite that didn't have a double bed, so they added another bed. They cleaned the room with a very strong liquid so they could stay there. At night, we could hear noises behind the wall, and it turned out to be cockroaches. On the second night, we saw them walking around the room and saw them getting inside the wall where the noises were heard. I filed a complaint with the front desk and we are waiting for a prompt response.

Sargassum on the beach area was terrible. Even though you could see everyday people cleaning the area, it was in super bad condition and the smell was disgusting. I know is something from mother nature.

We have stayed in other properties around this one, this is the first time we stayed here. We had a great experience. Everything was clean and nice, for the most part the food was also great. We would recommend this stay for traveling families that want an upscale experience for not a lot of money.

RIU Palace exceeded my expectations, the doorbell and receptionist made me feel like in paradise with warm welcome. Waiters are very nice, they pay attention to your needs at each restaurants and always smiling. Hotel extremely clean, daily activities for every age, safe hotel and familiar. This is my second time staying in this hotel, my husband and I traveled with 2 kids(4&11years old).
