Service wasn't great. Waited 10 minutes on reception for someone to turn up at check in. Person who checked us in seemed pretty clueless throughout our stay including giving us an invalid parking discount card.

The hotel is situated nicely for the train station and city centre as it's walkable for both in around 10 minutes. The hotel is undergoing a refurb so the overall appearance should improve when it's finished. The room was dark . Painted a dark green colour it was was quite dingy. Thankfully the windows were large and let a lot of light through to the bedroom. No working fan or window in the bathroom so it got very damp and steamy whenever you had a shower. We stayed 2 nights and breakfast both mornings wasn't a great event. The first morning had all the requirements for a cooked breakfast but it wasn't hot . The lights over the serving dishes were too low and I burnt my hand trying to close the lids. The person on duty was helpful and got me some ice to put on my burn but there was no real concern for me. The second morning was a fiasco. It was busy but there was very little actually ready for everyone. We were all asking for cups, plates, glasses, bacon, eggs, bread, pastries, yogurts, fruits etc etc. lots of people were stood waiting around for things to be brought out and most people were unhappy. On checkout I mentioned my burn and the curt answer I got was we'll look into it . Again no concern for my burnt hand. The foyer and bar area looks good but most of the people working there came over indifferent to questions and requirements. There is no luggage storage facility which may be something that aught to added to the hotel. The situation is the best asset

The hotels location was great—within walking distance to nearly everything, and about a 20 minute walk to Albert Dock. Our room was set apart from the main section of the hotel, so unfortunately, I can’t speak to the experience in the other areas or rooms. The room was very clean and spacious. The room came with biscuits, coffee, and tea. Also came with an ironing board and desk. Housekeeping was so attentive to our needs! The bar was very nice, with happy hour daily until 8 PM—two drinks for $18. Breakfast was included with our stay. On the first day, we had multiple options from the menu. I ordered an omelet, and my daughter had scrambled eggs—both great! The iced coffee was especially delicious. On the second day, breakfast was limited to buffet style only, with no menu options or specialty drinks—just what was available on the bar. Overall, I would definitely consider staying at Sir Thomas again, but next time I’ll likely book directly through the hotel to have more input on the room assignment. Our room was the only one in that area, positioned right next to the elevator.The rest of the guest rooms on our floor, you had to pass through a glass enclosure, beyond which there was a notice about ongoing construction. We honestly never saw anyone else in that section of the hotel, which made it feel quite isolated.

If you are after somewhere fairly cheap and just a mattress for the night, this place does the job, but that is all. Room was hot, no temperature control. We got a hand wash bottle in the shower to use, no shampoo, conditioner or body wash which we found quite comical actually. Room was very dark, in a party area so beware but that part didn’t bother us. Bedroom Decor is very odd, a bit tacky so would be better updating it. Big one for me is the bed… I felt every spring, very cheap mattress and rock hard. I can handle the rest but please get new beds. Overall I wouldn’t choose to stay here again, but if you’re looking for a fairly cheap room for the night, this place could be an option.

Had a lovely meal to celebrate my 2 granddaughters communion day which was lovely the girls serving the food were very nice and they worked hard our room was very clean nice comfy beds and we were on the corner so we were happy with that, the guy who was on reception was excellent he looked after us and was a lovely guy sorry I did not catch his name all in all our stay was excellent and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again oh and the breakfast was delicious

When we booked 2 rooms superior rooms, the rooms did not correspond to the superior rooms as detailed in the hotel photos. We also vhose the hotel as it stated breakfast. For the first two mornings the only option for breakfast was toast and jam, cereal or yoghurt tea and coffee. There was no hot choice as we were told there were a maintenance problem on the first morning, and would be resolved for the remaining stay of our 3 nights booking.The following mornings breakfast was the same as the first. Having asked what the maintenance issue was, it was difficult to get to the bottom of the problem. But eventually a staff member let it slip that the chef had not turned up for work for our first two mornings. On our last morning we finally had a choice of a cooked breakfast. I did ask a member of staff of any compensation but was told a definite no. Which I found it not acceptable as the hotel were advertising an full English breakfast for £12. Rather disappointed with the response and that the hotel gave us.I could not unstandand why another member of the kitchen staff that could take over in cooking breakfast. Spoilt our stay.

Great location

Great location. We stayed on a Saturday night, first floor Windows don’t really shield any street noise - you could hear every car drive by and people talking on the street below until about 4am and street sweeper after 5am. As a result we didn’t sleep well.
