I have stayed at the Corus Hyde Park a couple of times before but it was pre Covid. As these trips were good, I booked again with confidence and was very disappointed. Staff were lovely and the only good thing about the hotel. The bedroom was freezing, even when we were in bed and had the portable plug in radiator plugged in. It was also so unbelievably noisy and we were consistently woken up all throughout the night (Fitbit recorded 32 times) by the noisy cars outside playing loud music, the toilet flushing in the room next door and people traipsing up and down like they were in wooden clogs on a wooden floor. Regardless of time of night nobody was quiet. Then early morning we were woken by someone with a walkie talkie. I woke up shattered before my two business meetings for the day. It was worse than having a new born baby. The bed was also so hard I felt like my spine was in pieces.
I will never rebook and that makes me sad because it was never like this in the past. Breakfast was mediocre and we went early before the rush, so it wasn’t because it had been there all day.
Went for my birthday get away and was given a great room with a view of Hyde park and a card and box of chocolate for my birthday, thank you I really appreciate it.
Dante (reception desk) was amazing. Our check in time was 3pm but on the walk from the train station, i fell and wasn't sure if I had damaged my knees or not. Was in some pain but not sure if I had broken the skin. He overheard this comment when checking in and he immediately told the clerk to give us early checking in at no additional cost. I applaud this gentleman and his caring concern. Thank you

The hotel from outside and the reception area was nice, the other areas really need updating as looking very tired & worn. Most of the staff were friendly, we had a knock on our door at 8:45 from cleaning staff asking when we were checking out.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Worst hotel I have ever stayed tired
Bed linen smelt fusty not the usual clean smell
Should have read reviews booked for location for an overnight so was rested for a full day in London
Staff couldn’t care less 08:15 housekeeping knocked at door asking when we were leaving checkout was 11 am imagine if you arrived early hours catching up on sleep
We have stayed at the Corus the same weekend for the last 5 years. The service has always been good but the hotel is looking very tired once you move away from the reception area. We had a message to say that the hotel was closing the day we left for work to be carried out but it didn't say what the work would be. Hopefully it will be a refit.
The breakfast this year was a let down. Not as much choice as usuall but we put this down to the closure.
We use this hotel as we attend the Albert Hall so it is ideally positioned for a walk through Hyde Park. Hopefully the work being done brings the hotel up to date. It will be a shame if not.
I used to stay here a lot for work. It has gone downhill. On arrival, Dante at the check in desk showed no interest and was unhelpful. We had 7 luggage items and were told to go and get the trolley from behind the concierge desk. The staff on our last day were more helpful though. The room had stains all over the carpet. I won’t stay here again, despite staying regularly pre-pandemic.
My wife and I travel to the UK 1-2 times a year and normally stay at the Corus for its value and location. Staff are generally very helpful and professional and it really pains me to give a negative review, but on our most recent stay we had a bag stolen from our room. We reported this to the staff and they assured us they take this very seriously so that is why I’m not rating them as poor. After several years of coming to this hotel, I will be considering another option on our next visit.
Hotel was lovely and staff were really helpful and polite. Everything we needed was available and breakfast was delicious. The location was great, right opposite Hyde Park and wish we could've stayed longer.
We paid to upgrade to an executive room, but were not told it was directly above the service entrance to the hotel. So paid extra to be woken at 6am by extremely noisy delivery people lasting until 7.30am. When we informed reception of this on check out they were less than interested and didn’t offer to refund the upgrade which would have been the decent thing to do.
