I use this hotel a great deal for work and can honestly say that it is a home from home for me. The desk staff are professional and friendly. They will do everything they can to ensure that your stay is individually tailored to your needs. Nothing ever seems too much for them. The duty manager who is often on duty when I arrive is friendly, helpful, supportive and professional. I can’t recommend this hotel enough

The Grange Fitzrovia has been my hotel of choice when staying in London on business. On this horrific occasion I arrive to find scaffolding all over the front of the hotel, builders bellowing at each other and a member of reception staff who is having to deal with it all. I explain that no notice of such work is unacceptable and I would like a room where I can open the curtains and not be met by builders. She offers a rear facing room. Puts a note on my file and I leave, disappointed but hopeful. On return a sullen receptionist issues a front room. I return and am greeted with, ‘Yes, what’s wrong’ in an abrupt tone. My room is change by a second receptionist who promptly issues a room almost as small as a cupboard and directly behind the lift. You can only imagine the noise and my annoyance! The grading for staff is only this one very rude receptionist. The grading of the hotel was generous. I sincerely hope this review is noted, The Grange Hotels group respond and renew my faith in the hotel. On this occasion don’t use this hotel. Usually, a comfortable, welcoming and centrally located hotel with charm. Let’s get back to the latter quickly please Grange.

Really nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean, the bed was huge and comfortable. We liked the character to the building. The only downside was the lack of air conditioning....its summer, and the room was really hot, even with a fan on and all the windows open. The bathroom could benefit from an upgrade, but it was all in working order.

Stayed here several times, average at best.

I have stayed here on several occasions over the last few years. Mostly due to its location while I have been having some medical treatment nearby. Therefore it has been a fit for purpose hotel for us, for the best price in the area. On arrival, the lobby looks fairly grand, however when you get to the rooms, they are rather dated. On this most recent visit, we were put in a room on the lower ground floor, and even the TV didn't work. Fair enough, one of the staff did try to fix it, but it seemed from the start that they were not surprised that we were having problems with it. Also that particular room was like one of those beds that pull down from the wall? Anyway, after about 2 hours we finally got a marginally better room on floor 1. The bed was not comfortable at all, my husband and I found ourselves rolling into the middle. Previous beds have been better though, so maybe we just were unlucky. The rooms on this visit were 013 & 113. The bathrooms are very tired, I think no matter how long you spend cleaning them, they'll never come up sparkling. Also the shower doors seem to have been fixed to the baths the wrong way around. We have had the continental breakfast before, which wasn't amazing. You can get a full English nearby from about £5. Overall, it's an OK hotel, very tired rooms & not much urgency about the staff so don't expect things in too much of a hurry. But great location.

Weekend break

Stayed as a weekend break prior to a work seminar in London. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Restaurant evening meals very nice if a little expensive (which is probably why it was virtually empty both nights). Nice bar area, comfortable seating. Room was a double with plenty of space, comfortably large bath in bathroom although the plumbing was a little worn and tired. Good choice on room service menu. TV didn't offer the menus it advertised ( view your bill and offer of the day both blank) and range of channels very limited, 1990s-esque. Very few power sockets and none near bed so couldn't leave phone charging and use as alarm. Windows opened fully which was good for airing the room.

Hottest hotel IN THE WORLD

Unfortunately the place must be experiencing some issues with its air conditioning. 90 of the time in the UK this wouldn't be a problem, but June happens to be hot this year and it totally ruined the experience. Very difficult to sleep, impossible to get any air moving in the rooms due to restricted windows etc., a real shame as the rest of the hotel was largely speaking very good. They seemed a little understaffed, which was a shame and took the edge off the service aspect when downstairs. Great location, but if you are going to book, for your sake check out whether they have sorted out their aircon!
