Fire Alarm went off at 4.30am, no staff to guide us. Communication poor, if there had of been a fire there would have been fatalities, as guests had no idea. Front reception is deceptively as clean and inviting, but rooms tied and dirty.

It was ok, average I would say. You pay for the location which is perfect but the room is just average and quite small. Not a massive problem as only sleeping in there. We also had a false fire alarm at 4.15am!

It is conveniently located if you have a business in West End, Covent Garden, Oxford Street, British Museum etc. The facility may not be up to date or first class but i like the location so I stay here when I visit the above places.

Great hotel in great location

Was very surprised at how lovely the hotel was given some of the rewiews. Our room was clean, tea & coffee making facilities, bed was comfy, location is excellent. Couldnt fault it, and reasonable priced too. Will defo stay again and would recommend

This is usually my go to hotel when in London, great location, good room size if I book the city room, great late night bar with good bar staff and cocktails. My issue is that the hotel rooms are now really dated, the savings grace was the late night bar tenders making great cocktails. They have now gone and the bar is not that desirable, good for regular drinks at best. For the past 6 years I've been staying here the elevators/lifts have always been temporarily been on a reduced service. I used to really like this hotel for it's price and location, but I now think it's time for me to look at other options.

Perfect location for theatre and shopping with the station just a block away. There is quite a bit of street noise that can be heard from the room which is to be expected in this location. The room is a good size and perfect for someone who just needs a place to sleep and shower.

Budget hotel

The first impressions of the hotel were good with a smart, spacious reception area. We had a "Signature" double room which was comfortable for the two nights we were staying but I wouldn't have liked to stay much longer. It has a small window but with the window open there was a noise like working extraction units, too loud to sleep through so the window had to be closed. There is air conditioning in the room, but again, very loud. House keeping was good but they kept the laundry cages next to our room, 854, and when they moved them or put items in or out the cages banged noisily on the wall, if you look at the wall when the cages aren't there you can see where the paint has been scraped off by the cages. The biggest problem with the hotel comes from it's very design, 4 small lifts, 1 of which was out of order, covering 12 floors (14 if you count the lobby and mezzanine) at busy times you have to wait a very long time for a lift with space for you to get in. There are 3 restaurants, the main bar, Hudsons, is very dark, the 24 hour restaurant obviously has security issues as the toilets are locked with codelocks and there are signs of damage. I think the only way to describe St. Giles is a budget hotel.

Stay over

We stayed at this hotel to go to a concert and stay over. The location was great and the hotel as a whole was good. The rooms were quite small and the shower head had a mind of its own!. Shower was small, as was the en suite. Price was fairly reasonable for the location.
