This hotel is in a great position but has seen better days. We were there in June and it was hot. There was no air conditioning, just a rather tired fan. The staff were helpful but overall I felt the rates charged weren’t justified.

Nice location near Gloucester station. It is an older hotel. We had a room with 3 beds. The room was very small with firm beds and no air conditioning. We had requested the family room and it was given to someone else. The bathroom lacked counter space and the hairdryer was in the living area. Limited opening of the window for safety reason but it made for poor air flow. The breakfast had a variety of options and friendly staff.

Hotel was ok, no good when hot, the rooms did have a fan but not great. Probably Better off to get rid of desk and chair, chair gets in the way, perhaps have a shelf with a stool and what’s the box on the wall all about with the kettle etc in it, better of putting on the suggested shelf. Reception staff seem friendly but didn’t stay for breakfast as felt quite expensive.

This property is hard to rate - my first impression was great - it's a very charming property in a very ritzy part of London. However I wrongly assumed that in such a ritzy area - such a nice looking property would have air-conditioning. It was unseasonably hot and the staff made use feel like we were asking too much to get a second small fan to cool the room which was super hot. Also drinks are very weak for the price - but that is apparently normal in London - bartenders in the US are much more generous with their pours! Stick with the Beer!!

Clean room and attentive staff

A good, clean room - not a bad price for London and a twin room. Unfortunately we were on the top (5th) floor on a very hot day/night, and the property being old doesn’t have air conditioning. However, the staff had already opened the windows and drawn the blinds and put a fan (on) in the room. They also brought up cool water and glasses for the room shortly after we went up. The staff were attentive and always happy to help where they could and the rooms were clean and had plenty of sockets. The bathroom was tiny but they still managed to get a decent shower in there. The hotel is a gorgeous period building and a lot of the original features remain including stained glass windows in the bar. I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel has one very small lift serving the whole hotel including staff movement. Very very slow & only takes two people. Breakfast very average, any hotel that serves tinned fruit in summer has a special place in hell. Room very small with little to recommend, bathroon very small to pokey. Can't say I would recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at Gem Strathmore. The location is perfect. A short walk to dining options, the Gloucester Tube station and museums. The staff was very pleasant and the facilities were clean.

Absolutely fantastic stay. The staff could not do enough for us. After I mentioned it was the end of his SATS week, they upgraded us and made his and my entire year. They were kind and thoughtful and so friendly. Best hotel I’ve stayed in in London! Room was lovely and bed comfy. Decor lovely too.
