I don't know if they have only one housekeeper but my room was not ready for my check-in and I had to wait until almost 4:30 (check-in was supposed to be 3). At first, I figured they were busy but that clearly was not the case after hanging around waiting. This was on a Monday by the way. Also, they really need to update their phones in the room, the cords don't even reach a manageable distance, literally about 12-16 inches. My trash bin in the bathroom also did not open. The lid was broken and you can seriously just replace one for $5-10. I understand vintage but everything in my room was not very well-maintained.

Not really a 4 star bedroom. Small, Very small hanging space for clothes, you have to be an Olympic pole vaulter to have a shower - anyone over the age of 60 has no chance of climbing over the bath side and through the small gap staff very good And attentive

A real Gem in the heart of London

The Gem Strathmore is perfectly located for exploring the museums and Hyde Park area of London. An easy block walk off the Gloucester Road Tube and an easy walk to South Kensington. The hotel is really nice. Comfortable and clean with an excellent bar to unwind in after a long day of sight seeing. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this hotel.

Dated basement room, air con was nonexistent and the window opened out to a service steps which had lots of noise. Mattress was like sleeping on cardboard and for the cost it was an absolute con. Honestly avoid like the plague

Pleasantly surprised old manor home was a nice hotel accommodation. Quiet neighborhood convenient for transit meals and food items. Staff were visible and friendly. Room and bath cleaned daily with fresh towels. Shower was a small but newly remodeled. Would definitely recommend to others.

The property was nice and staff was friendly. Room was small with no place to put away clothes or shoes. Hair dryer was bolted to the drawer inside the desk in the room which is an odd place to have a dryer. There was barely any water pressure coming out of the shower.

Great stay

The staff were very welcoming and helpful and we got a complimentary upgrade. They also gave us a discount on the dinning room for anything. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable Location was perfect for the natural history museum or V&A.

We stayed here for the last 2 nights of a 2 week trip to England and Scotland. Our room was incredibly small. So small in fact that only one of us could walk on the floor at a time The other person had to be on the bed. We are not big people. The shower was so small you could not physically bend down to pick things up in the shower from the floor. Every time we lifted our arms to wash our hair we would elbow the soap dish. There was no type of air flow in the room. The window opened but the outside breeze did not blow into the room.
