Good location, metro and bus station just outside the hotel. 24 hours McDonalds just down stairs. Other restaurants nearby.

21st Birthday celebrations

I booked this trip for my son for his 21st Birthday celebrations and it was a really good break, the hotel is situated within walking distance to the bernabau (not sure how this is spelt) football stadium, there was a macdonalds right next door to the hotel and a taxi and bus rank practically opposite, also the metro was in walking distance. The only negative was that i couldnt book in to the hotel until 2pm which is nit very good if you have had a morning flight and just want to get changed and have a shower before going out.

Good location but may not please everyone

The Silken Puerta Castilla is located in the North of Madrid but next to a tube station that will take you to the city center in 15 min (direct to Sol, Tribunal, Real Madrid stadium, etc.). The area around the hotel is nothing special (a few modern buldings, the begining of Castellana and Tetuan, a very diverse area). But you will find lots of restaurants if you walk 5 min south and you also have lots of budget places around. The rooms are ok but lack some things such as slippers (this is a 4* after all!). Also, because of the 24hr McDonalds by the door, you may want to check your room doesn't get too noisy. I didn't try the breakfast, but at Eur19 it is a little bit too expensive! You have a bar at the hotel that serves good coffee and pastries or you can go outside to a Spanish bar or Rodilla, etc. and have a filling breakfast for 5 eur or less. All in all, it is a fairly priced hotel located in a very local area (you won't see menus in english around here) very well communicated with the rest of the city. I will definitely recommend it to tourists and business people alike.

Privatsphäre also kein Thema.
