Cabana Bay Universal was a great property with some amazing perks for universal guests such as shuttle buses and early access to parks. Food was ok nothing really special. Hotel has some unique amenities like the lazy river and bowling which we didnt get to try ourselves. The only thing which was disappointing that the cleaning is done every second day. Overall definitely recommend this property!!

Property was ginormous and easy to get lost, even with a map. The front desk had multiple problems with my billing and charged me multiple times. They told me they would refund one, and still haven’t. They didn’t get me a room until 7 pm when I checked in at 1:30 pm. They called my room at 11:30 pm that night waking me up for this billing issue that I had already fixed with the front desk. I asked for hand soap because there was none and they said “yeah no problem” never got it. They told me they weren’t going in the room because I put the privacy tag on the door, yet they did come in and leave extra towels on my bed that I didn’t need or want. Generally this was a horrendous choice and I will never stay here again. The only thing I liked was the look (never got to go in the pools), and the shuttle system being so easy. The food wasn’t terrible but it was sooooo expensive.

The staff overall was nice. There was a bug in the initial room I booked with a pool view, we were moved to a so called “upgraded” room. The “upgraded” room did not have a view, we did see 2 people smoking marijuana on the balcony near our last day. The room itself was dated, smelled of dirty carpet, and was not clean to my liking. I requested house keeping everyday for that reason. I was giving 2 drink voucher & 2 food vouchers for the inconvenience of the bug/move with my initial room. The initial room was better than the “upgraded” room to me minus the bug situation. We enjoyed the pool/hot tub/lazy river. Beware you do have to purchase the floaties for the lazy river or bring your own there is an air machine on site. The food was not the greatest. Overall, I like the location and some of the staff but I don’t think I would stay there again. Also, some of the guest were rude & racist but I suppose that can occur anywhere.

This is our 3rd time staying at Cabana. All other times have been 5 stars. Taking off 1 star this time because the food choices at the cafeteria-style restaurant was meh this time. Something changed since the last time we were there in 2021. We used to always eat there, but this time nothing looked appealing at all. Other than that, the room, pool, overall resort, ambiance and retro vibe, helpful staff, etc. were perfect. We will still go back - just hope that the food choices improve.

Good room. Paid for a pool view upgrade, yet on the ground level so didn't get any view and had people walking past our window. I would have preferred a higher room facing the car park. Check in process was very slow. There is no resort fee, just have to pay for parking.
