Overall, Hotel 1898 has a lot to offer with the spa and aesthetic of the rooms. They showed great hospitality with a lovely unexpected birthday gift. My only complaint would be the noise from the train and las Ramblas. If you are a light sleeper like myself I’d suggest a room of las ramblas and/or on a higher floor to avoid train noise which caused vibrations in the room. I was unaware of the construction (as it’s not on their website) on the day before my stay or I would have requested/booked a different space.

What a place! This is a hotel that looks exactly the way it is shown online. Beautiful building, lovely staff, and amazing spa. This place feels like luxury without the hefty price tag! Will refer friends and will come back for sure!

Wasn’t informed of the construction happening outside which was fine but the worst part is that they didn’t say anything about the metro running every 10mins and shaking the entire room. They try to make it better by dropping off champagne to people who don’t drink and a bowl of fruit worth the kiwi already cut into. Was very disappointed.

The hotel was a beautiful boutique hotel right in the middle of las Ramblas Barcelona. We hung at the bar every night and our bartenders were the best (Joaquin and Pablo), took care of us and gave us tips on the area. Will definitely come back.

Hotel rooms are good and large for a city. Having stayed in the hotel before I was disappointed in the spa. You have to make a reservation and staff either don’t answer the phone or are rude. Having been told it was full I went down and it was empty. The spa is the reason I booked the hotel so it’s a shame.

This is an old but well maintained property, neat and clean. It is ideally located on La Ramblas - everything and anything is just walking distance - shopping, restaurants, Bars - Catalonia square and the port is walking distance. Amazing property with fantastic location.

Property was in a great location for walking to attractions. The hotel itself was nice but not entirely as expected. The rainfall shower they advertise was off the the far left of the tub mostly falling on the edge of the tub where youd put your shampoo bottle, where you actually had to stand on the slanted part of it to get any water on you so not ideal at all especially not if ahowering two people at a time, it did have a hand wand but besides the point of rainfall. The tub also was starting to seperate from the wall at its seams, where the "rainfall" hit. The toilet seat was broken and kept falling to the side when sitting down. We also called the desk to say one of the lamps mounted to the wall was broken and dangling off the wall, she said someone would come fix it and our entire stay nobody did. The staff was amazing otherwise, very friendly and happy to assist. Room was cleaned perfectly each day. The bar and food were great and the live music was awesome. Room was just a bit lacking and needed some extra attention.

Fantastic Stay at Hotel 1898 – Great Location !

Fantastic Stay – Great Location ! Amzing food! Friendly Staff! Had a wonderful experience! The location was perfect.The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist. The hotel room and restaurant was clean making our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend and would definitely return!
