Former sea captains house in historic Nantucket has beautiful rooms, is very clean and the staff and current owner are very accomodating. Rooms are spacious, bed is comfortable and shower has plenty of pressure and hot water. Would highly recommend a stay here.

We absolutely loved Room 4, with the private outdoor deck space, gorgeous blue and white decor, boucle’ side chairs for relaxing, and ample en-suite. The Inn was well maintained. I'm not really a bed and breakfast person, but Martin House Inn was located only a half mile from the ferry terminals, which was important to me. My room was quaint, clean and had a private bathroom. There was no elevator, and I had to carry my suitcase to the third floor. I would stay here again.

Very charming, spotless, and well-appointed Inn. I went in winter, so it was very quiet (I imagine a full house would show more bustle!) Easy breezy come-and-go, the proprietor was a text message away if needed. Breakfast was fine for continental. Ice machine and small fridge guests can use are downstairs. Parking on the street was easy (again, I imagine a little tougher in summer!) All in all a lovely spot, definitely recommend.

Travelers need to understand that Nantucket is a serene, unplugged,and historic place. The Martin House is an excellent example of a historic house turned into a boutique B & B (breakfast is light continental). There is no elevator. You walk the stairs if you are staying on the 2nd or 3rd floor. We had a wonderful time here. Everything was a short walk from the Martin House. The manager, David, was gracious and accommodating and his homemade granola was excellent. Pastry choices were outstanding. Coffee, water, and tea were available all day. The open sitting area was relaxing and pristine. Staying at the Martin House is an excellent way to disconnect from the busy world and relax in Nantucket. Highly recommend.
