I booked this hotel with fingers crossed! I normally stay at on property hotels for Disney and Universal but decided to try and save a little money and stay off site. I thought a partner hotel would be fine. The outside of the hotel reminded me of a Motel 6. The pictures of the remodeled rooms and lobby had me thinking the outside was just needing the remodel now. I arrived at about 10am with check in being at 4pm. I asked for early checkin when booking but understood if it was not possible. We waited in the lobby till a room was ready about 4pm. The lob y is very clean and restroom close and very clean. Room was very clean. Older but clean and comfortable. Smelled nice too! Tub was a little scary as I could hear and feel the slight cracking as i turned i. The shower. Very clean shower though! NO BODY SOAP. Only Shampoo and Conditioner. Sink area had Lotion. Beds were comfortable. Sheets were warm and clean. Air conditioner was ok. Room door could be upgraded. I felt at any time someone could just kick the door in. I could see sunlight around the door so bugs could come in and i could hear everything outside. I just kept a towel on the floor. Food. I did not expect the entire place to be INDIAN FOOD. It was great but i was surprised that was the only option for the majority. I didnt eat at the restaurant. I ate at the cafe for breakfast. Cheese omelet and bacon. Very good! Coffe good too. My daughter had pancakes and waffles. Excellent! Cafe staff WONDERFUL! Rooms

We stayed on New Year's Eve for one night just before moving over to a Universal resort. First time staying and we were quite surprised. The hotel was booked solid but it was very efficient, everything was clean, the room was surprisingly nice, given the price. We could actually walk over to Universal by going over the Portofino and picking up the garden path to City Walk. Super convenient. We also ate dinner at Tabla and were VERY impressed with Indian food. It's absolutely worth eating there.

I know for the price you pay, this is what you get but you should probably clean the hallways more or at least not have the guests put their towels outside the doors..when we left there were lots of towels by room doors even sheets down the stairs. Hotel needs a lil more cleaning.

Beware of fake reviews!!! It was an old hotel, the beds were OK, but the part I didn’t like were the bugs/insects (spiders, cockroaches, toilet bugs, etc) in the rooms. Our shower didn’t drain - 6” of standing water that took >1hr to drain. Also, I booked 2 Queen Beds, but they were smaller (double). Hotel policy is also not to clean rooms during your stay - they have a big sign at check in stating that. They also said the pools temporarily closed, but it’s clearly been out of commission for months with broken cinder blocks and no water.

bathroom door stuck as it was so warped... you could tell they “tried” to update the motel… took a “ photo copy” of our visa and license”? um. who does that anymore ? will be making sure i’m not charged for anything else. a little sketchy .. hotels keep your info “on database file” for extra charges. will we stay again? probably not with so many choices near universal.

The main benefits of this hotel are the proximity to Universal and the free shuttle. However, the front desk service was the worst I’ve experienced. After a long day with an early flight the following day, we were met with loud guests in the courtyard - screaming, speaking loudly & washing their hands in the fountain. We could hear them over our TV & air conditioner. It was late and our child wanted to sleep, so we called the front desk to report the noise and the agent said “okay” and hung up on us while we were speaking - she did not offer to do anything about the noise. We called back 15 minutes later and she said she would send maintenance to deal with the loud guests, however this was never done. We had to wait another 45 minutes for the guests to go back to their rooms before we could sleep. If the front desk staff had not been so unhelpful and rude, I would have given this hotel a better rating. But if you’re looking for somewhere to sleep after spending the day at the parks, be prepared for a lot of noise and staff that do not care about your comfort.

This hotel is really nice. Clean rooms, beautiful room and bathroom. Our adjoining room door was not working so we called the front desk. The maintenance man was there in seconds. The food in the cafe in the lobby is DELICIOUS. The lobby is beautiful too. We would stay here again. The buildings are two story so there isn’t an elevator. Not a problem. The cafe is open till 12am. No buffet breakfast, but believe me I’d rather pay for and eat delicious food.

The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. The staff were very nice. We brought our dog and he loved it as well. There was plenty of room for him in the suite because there is a whole other room for him to roam. There were areas outside to walk him which included “clean up” areas with bags and a garbage. The only negative was that the hot tip wasn’t working. We will definitely stay here again.

The hot tub and pool were closed. Housekeeping was limited. No free breakfast. However I love that there was free parking and shuttle buses to and from universal studios and islands of adventure
