Need to upgrade rooms! Humid with bad odour rooms, came home and can’t wash out the bad smell from clothes, suitcase and even shoes, everything smells bad like mildew. Not enough hooks to hang towels, no toiletries, shampoo and soup cheapest quality. There is good minibar, enough water. Room service is great. Food is ok. Around the pool is anonymous amount of sand, some people even rinse their shoes in the pool. The steps to the beach are covered with thick layer of sand, nobody cleans them. Cocktails were good quality. Overall stuff is very nice and respectful. The beach is amazing, clean, powdery sand, can walk far in the water. Entertainment people were amazing. The RIU hotels need to be updated to stay in good reputation. There is a closet like convenience store with very high prices and low inventory. No not returning nor recommending.

We loved our stay at Riu Yucatán and had a great overall experience, especially considering the price. The food was very good, with a wide variety of options, so we didn’t even feel the need to book the à la carte restaurants. There were plenty of fish and meat dishes, salads, fruits, and different Mexican options. Breakfast was excellent as well, with everything from omelettes to sweets. The beach and sea are beautiful — white sand, clear water, and almost no seaweed during our stay. The beach itself is stunning. The staff were fantastic: always helpful, friendly, and everything around the resort was spotless. The animation and activities seemed good too, although we didn’t participate much ourselves. One of the highlights for us was the wildlife on the property. We saw coatis, birds, and iguanas, and we were told that monkeys can be spotted as well — a really nice touch, especially with kids. Downsides: The rooms are a bit outdated, but they are still very functional, clean, and comfortable. There are no umbrellas on the beach. There are palm trees, but with kids the shade isn’t always enough. At checkout, our key cards were blocked exactly at noon sharp we didn’t know and accidentally closed the room but we still had some belongings inside, which was inconvenient. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay, great value for money, and we would definitely recommend!

The rooms were clean however the smell of mold was always there. Very dated rooms. Very comfortable beds though. Staff was great all over. Better entertsjnment than most all- includives ive been to. Resort was very clean everywhere you went. You never saw anything left on tables or dirty tables anywhere. You can't go wrong with staying at the Riu Yucatan. Lots of fun

Our stay may the Riu Yucatan was okay. The staff were all great. They are keeping a place going that needs updating. Shout out to Gustavo and the rest of the Entertainment and Activity staff. They work incredibly hard. Loved the pool games, White party, Silent Disco. Building 8 needs updating. Cleaning could be improved. Stains on pillows, floor washing. Our minibar water was only refilled when requested. A water supply repair was done quickly. Food had options, but main meals were never hot. Even the al a carte restaurants. Bartenders were good everywhere. The mobile cart serviced by Manuel at the pool was good. The beach was beautiful with lots of seating.

Breakfast buffet had a big selection but was the SAME EVERYDAY that I could see. Lunch buffet also had a good selection but again, usually the same offerings. Dinner options were more plentiful....'al a carte' Sicilian, Asian or steak. We chose the Italian but wasn't exactly 'fantastic'. We also had the Asian and there was a pretty good selection of food but the sushi portion was small. Fountain drinks were weak in all areas. The bars were well staffed for the most part and the servers very friendly and enthusiastic! Our room, which was a Suite C, was large and located in Building 6 - very central & convenient! We did have trouble with the toilet flushing and found out we were not to flush toilet paper in the toilet???? WHY NO SIGNAGE TO ADVISE OF THAT PROBLEM? We also couldn't get our TV to operate...never did get that fixed. Our 'safe', once items placed inside and door locked with code - we couldn't reopen! Had to have a fellow come open for us. Entertainment in the evening was alright.....not exceptional, just alright. Beaches are beautiful...sandy, no rocks or stones at all. We had a huge balcony but usually too hot to sit out there. Air conditioning worked perfectly!!! Also in-suite fridge/bar was a treat because all drinks were included!!! overall - was fun & safe!!!

The rooms are decently clean, shower head had noticeable built up dust that obviously looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in a few weeks or months. The food variety is very limited for an all inclusive resort, most of the food is reused at the other “restaurants” they have on the resort. The staff is usually friendly! I don’t run into any rude or non helpful staff. My first night checking in, I was moved to their sister hotel the Riu Palace for the night because the room I had booked had “unexpected air conditioning problems”, which was a bit irritating but it was fixed the next day and wasn’t an issue to resolve. A man by the name of Tito was extremely helpful during that first night. I would stay here again, I would just hope for better and more thorough clean, and a wider variety of food!

My balcony view was of a forested area where the monkeys , Coatis, and Zerekes live. You can watch them doing their routine daily activities. I requested this building specifically from Christhian, so that I could enjoy this view. Many thanks to Christhian for granting my request .
