The staff was friendly, the room was nice. Turning on the shower you get wet and it would have been nicer on the other side of the building, a lot of construction noise. I wouldn’t pay that much for that room location.

Front Desk James and Duty Manager Greig went above and beyond to make our stay here enjoyable. Rooms were clean and quiet, and the free bottles of water were a nice extra touch. The breakfast host (didn't catch her name) was also friendly and efficient.

the staff was so good to me. i was bleeding heavy and was 3 months pregnant. i called staff to come help me and they got me to the hospital in a timely manner. i’m so thankful for the staff. unfortunately i did lose my baby but if it wasn’t for them responding quickly i could have lost my life as well.

Room had a double bed and a twin. Nice view of Calton Hill and the Waverley train station. Walkable to all sights. Nice fitness center and restaurant.

Service at reception was good. The restaurant service is absolutely atrocious. They need someone who knows how to manage a restaurant operation. Also the cleaners didn’t seem to clean everything in the bathrooms.

The shower water kept cutting out while showering, but the staff addressed it promptly and the problem was fixed. The room itself was clean, just dated. The bathroom was very clean. Cleaning staff was very friendly! Location is very good as well.

Excellent location, five minutes from train station 10 mins from all shops and walkable to the Usher Theatre. Lovely clean room and bathroom. No complaints

Good and Bad

Positive: Nice clean rooms and comfortable convenient for those arriving by train it is only a short walk away, plus the shops and attractions are near by also. Negative: A lot of building work going on, which can be seen from the window, but it can't be helped I guess, the shower had very low pressure and almost down to trickles on both days of my stay, but on the good side I have stayed in this hotel before and all was fine.

Mixed review

Had a room at the back of hotel facing scaffolding. Noisy when we arrived and noisy 1st thing in the morning too. Room itself was well appointed. Good tea/ coffee facilities, complimentary water and fhower was good
