I'll start off by saying the staff are excellent. Breakfast was ok - what you'd expect, great that you had the option to take food 'to go'. Only criticism of breakfast was that the hash browns weren't crispy enough. The bedrooms are dated and the sofa bed is not a standard double bed. We had 2 adults and 2 children and the first room we were given was very very small. Reception staff were very helpful and provided us with a bigger room, but the sofa bed is definitely not fit for 2 people - this was further proven by the fact that both rooms we seen were laid out for 3 people (3 coffee cups, 3 towels). Hotel is overdue a refurbishment. However, location is fantastic for seeing Edinburgh.

Great location, easy access via tram from airport, tidy and clean rooms. Only reason for 4 not 5 is busy breakfast. Not much they can do if everybody eats at the same time. They do warn you. The breakfast is fine and despite busyness food plentiful

Breakfast options were good but buffet layout is chaotic and needs reviewed to make it more efficient for guests and staff. Initial room allocated was ground floor but in reality was below ground, it felt cold and unpleasant. 2nd room was on 6th floor, it was a big improvement but air was stale with no way to refresh it. Unlikely we will stay here again even though the location is excellent.

The air conditioner would continuously shut off, the fire alarm would brightly blink every 30 seconds, and the room could hear everything around it. However the staff was good and nice, the breakfast was good and the location was superb!
