The hotel was perfectly located, close to so many dining options, transportation options and the royal mile just perfect! It has a beautiful relaxing environment in the lobby/bar. Extremely clean with a great modern decor.

Our bedroom was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Motel One is in a very good location, as Princess Street is just across the bridge and The Royal Mile is up the a hill next to the hotel.

close to the royal mile but that was the only good thing. Room was extremely small and Edinburgh is a walkable city, or bus transports everywhere id recommend to anyone staying in Edinburgh to choose a hotel that is cheepier on the other side of the city, as it isn't hard to get to and get something better that is worth the price.

I would highly recommend this hotel for many reasons. It is an absolutely perfect location to enjoy The Royal Mile and Victoria Street, St. Giles, Palace of Holyroodhouse, and more. Our walking tours met less than a 3 minute walk from the hotel. In addition, the hotel lobby is a wonderful space to unwind after a long day and enjoy a glass of wine with friends. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. The hairdryer is powerful! Overall, I plan to stay at this Motel One when I return with my husband.

3 days in Edinburgh

Even tho room was small it was comfortable. Best location ever so close to castle and restaurants pubs! Train station bus line!! All right there. We were not in room except to collapse and sleep at night so that was fine. Breakfast also very good. They called us a taxi day we left too which was very accommodating! It was a nice place for the price!!

Great location, but very loud

Great location and very friendly staff who were accommodating when we asked to leave our bags at the hotel as our flight got in at 11:00am and check in was not until 3:00pm. Our issue was with noise. We were in room 201 and when we checked in on the first day at 3pm, we went straight for a nap. Right next door, there was very loud banging, footsteps, etc. it sounded like someone was just throwing things against the wall. Needless to say, we did not nap. When we left the hotel room again, we asked the front staff who told us that the cleaners store their materials right next to our room but that they only work until 5pm. We were also told that when guests request a quiet room, they're given room 201. While the cleaners did stop the loud noise by 5pm every day, they started at around 7am, waking us up early each morning. We didn't appreciate being told that this was a "quiet room" as it was anything but. So, just beware that if you're actually looking for a quiet stay, look elsewhere or at least ask for a different room. Otherwise, no complaints. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was nice, we had a window looking into a little courtyard.

This hotel has large rooms (we paid the upgrade for a room w a view) & is conveniently located on the edge of Old Town just over the bridge from New Town. It’s just 1 very long staircase from the Royal Mile. But if you don’t like stairs & steep inclines, Edinburgh isn’t the city for you.

Great location!!!walking distance to everything. Was not impressed with having to take elevator to 5th floor than lug luggage down multiple hallways with 2 different sets of stairs walk across a walk way taking you to a different building then an elevator up to another floor to get to the room (the only way to get to the room )This is definitely not a hotel for anyone with mobility issues

This is a higher cost hotel that does not offer much. The rooms are horribly small. The breakfast offered is only continental with the price of a full hot breakfast. The only cup provided are plastic take away coffee cups, no water glasses. The is no ventilation except windows which allow in lots of street noise.
