Hotel was pretty quiet inside. Staff was not super friendly when I made a request. Convenient to many things in just a short walk, including the train station.

This hotel has an exceptional location, just a few meters from the train station, which allowed us to get there on foot once we arrived from York. As if that weren't enough, they allowed us to check in early, which helped us make the most of the day. The hotel is located on the iconic Cockburn Street and just around the corner from Mary Kings Close. We also had the opportunity to walk to Victoria Street and nearby places to take photos of Edinburgh Castle. We were also able to walk to several interesting spots in the city, which are very close to the hotel. These included Calton Hill (with its beautiful views), Greyfryars Cemetery, and we were able to say hello to Bobby the dog and Molly the cow at the Edinburgh Museum. All on foot and within short distance, making this hotel a key point for enjoying the city. There are also many options for lunch and breakfast. We didn't choose the hotel breakfast as we had to leave early the next day, so we opted to have breakfast at the airport after security and immigration checks before our flight to Belfast. Excellent place, excellent location, excellent service!

The value for money is very hard to reconcile, it's extremely basic - which is great usually for a City break, however I would not stay here again because of the price. It is quite noisy if street facing, but nothing ear plugs doesn't fix. We were out in an accessible room due to limited space, which was sold to us as an upgrade (didn't enjoy that manipulation) where the bathroom looked like a public toilet and there was no shelfing. Won't stay here again, would rather be slightly outside of the core now I understand the City is very walkable. Overall, this was a rip-off.

I liked this hotel very much. It is extremely well-located, the staff is very nice and responsive, and it has nice views of a park. The motel name is misleading. It is a hotel, not a motel, and very appealing.

The layout was weird and definitely wasn’t a fan of the weird split level steps.. which I get they can’t change, but after a long day of traveling it sucked to carry luggage down multiple mini steps

Be in shape! Though great location to navigate for dining shopping & entertainment there's no parking on site so be prepared to hike the hills and steps. Cozy accommodations a bit snug but ok for person overnight not couple without feeling on top of each other. No view. No hand/washcloths. No tiny toiletries. At the price the breakfast should be included.

Great location. Directly across from the train station. Easy to carry bags. It's a German hotel, so efficient and clean. If you speak German, you will feel comfortable here. There are no closets/wardrobes to unpack and put away. The WiFi was free, so that was nice. I couldn't figure out how to use the TV apps or stream to it. I was bummed I forgot my Chromecast at home. Would I stay here again? Yes, but not for more than 5 nights. I would want a little more space and a place to put away my clothes.
