This was my 5th visit to the reef 28, that should say enough about the hotel and the staff. Make sure to buy a day pass and visit there resort location 15 minutes away.

Only problem we had were with the rooftop. Pool and two Jacuzzi's were in very bad condition. The concrete was deteriorated very badly, was rough and the bottoms had pieces of concrete that hurt your feet if you stepped on them. Only one jacuzzi had hot water 4 of the 10 days we were there. The other jacuzzi never had hot water. Rooftop didn't have enough laydown chairs had to go to the beach and pay to get a laydown chair. The rest of the hotel would get a 5 star rating.

We stayed at The Reef 28 for 7 days & loved every minute of it. It's steps away from both 5th Avenue & the public beach. The eating areas, lobby, rooftop & room were clean! The staff was pleasant & very helpful. If you are planning to eat dinner, you have to make a reservation -- breakfast & lunch are open. What is & isn't included in the all-inclusive package will be made clear to you. Just make sure you're playing attention when they give you the tour! We were able to access the sister resorts which are just as nice.

The hotel is super loud in the morning. Expect to be awoken at 6 am every morning as the staff prepare for the hotel breakfast. Even with a noise machine we could not drown out the sound of plates and cutlery slamming into each other. Would not recommend or return here.
