Overall for location I’d recommend. There were little random things that were annoying. The soap was used and open in the shower, a coffee cup had lipstick on it, one of the nespresso pods was used and put back in the container. The air conditioner was incredibly loud. The light and fan kept turning on and off by themselves. Literally middle of the night light on bright! Overall I feel like regardless if it’s old the upkeep could be better being in such a prime spot! But the little things is where they could really make the oldness of it shine.

Good location but poor standard

Great location on Ocean Drive in the heart of South Beach, however, that is the only good point. The Deluxe King room we were given was not representative of the on-line photo with an ugly view from the window (see photo). We asked to be switched to another room, this was slightly smaller but also with a building wall view. We did ask if we could pay extra for a room with a better view but the hotel was fully booked. There was no wardrobe or any hanging rail whatsoever. As we were only there for two nights we left our clothes in our suitcases. There was a coffee maker but only paper cups which were not replenished on the second day, likewise with the sugar and creamer. We asked reception for supplies and additional paper cups were provided but we had to purchase creamer from the CVS store next door. The reception staff were friendly but unable to satisfy our requests. On the first day we were provided with four face flannels but on the second day zero, only bath towels. Other avoidable grumbles are that no bedside tables were provided and the bedroom mirror didn’t appear to have been cleaned for a long time.

Once was enough!!

There was no closet & no luggage rack, the phone and the safe didn't work, and the TV had three huge white spots in the middle of the screen. I got a should shrug when mentioning the above to the front desk. Thank heaven the 20 somethings went out to dance at 11:30pm,as we had to get up at 3am to head home. They were so loud in the adjoining room they might as well have been standing in our room. If all you care about is being centrally located, and a great view from the ocean front room, then you are good. The bed was really comfy, and the free coffee was good except for the fact that there wasn't a stir, or speck of cream or sugar to be found. But the free bikes were a nice bonus. Plus the CVS next door was convenient, especially since the hotel doesn't have an ice machine. It's the laziest management I've ever experienced, but we can say we got to stay in the cool art deco area in the heart of the action. So I won't need to do that again!!

Good experience at hotel for one night stay. Staff was very helpful. Nice that they had bikes to use, beach towels, and beach chairs which we all used and were nice to have as an option on our trip.

Great Spot, No Frills Attached

Don’t let the photos fool you, the rooms are way smaller than they look online. Kind of like a budget version of what you see in the pics, but the price for the location is a steal. The place is a old and snug. There’s one tiny elevator that’s out of order more often than not, so be ready to hit the stairs. The rooms are compact, and if you’re sharing, just a heads up that the bathroom door is frosted glass. The beds are comfy and the staff was very friendly. In summary, you’re not stumbling on a crazy good deal at a luxury beachfront hotel, so manage those expectations and you'll be fine... you're getting what you're paying for. They do offer free beach chairs and towels at the front desk though, which is great. A cool trivia for film buffs, this hotel appears in the background of the end of the chainsaw scene from Scarface when Tony is out on the street.

I love that the hotel is on ocean drive but I feel like it could’ve used a little bit more updating. For example, there’s an old air conditioning unit in the room that really messed with my sinuses. The elevator was a little questionable, but it was cute overall.

Nice boutique hotel on South Beach

Stayed at the Beacon on South Beach for a couple of nights before our cruise. Fun area with lots of restaurant choices. Nice little boutique hotel close to the beach.

Property photos misleading, tiny moist/ moldy rooms, paper thin walls. Terrible stay and we will Not be staying in the future. Also construction work within the building was occurring at all hours and the property was constantly dirty and unkept.

Nice older hotel. My first impression in the room was a bit dirty. The floors were not mopped. But the bed and bath were clean. The end unit had windows that would not lock. It was nwxt to a stairwell. I didnt likw that. Aitrium was nice to hangout. The resto was good. Older pics in ads. 3.5/5 overall. Decent price.
