We stayed at The Reef Playacar as a last minute change of plans while we arrived in PDC. As we arrived, the staff was very nice and upgraded our room as it was our Honeymoon. The servers and bartenders were all very nice and we had minimal problems with the language barrier. Food at the buffet was mediocre and kinda feel like it was geared towards the bland American cuisine. Late night tacos on the other hand were amazing. The biggest issue we experienced at The Reef was how pushy the front staff was about their “platform” and how hard they pushed it on us. Almost felt like they were shoving it down our throats and when we said we weren’t interested, their demeanour towards us changed almost instantly and we didn’t feel as welcome or comfortable there. Cleanliness of the property was good, but minor things like rusty shower door hinges in the room left a lasting impression

When you arrive and check in they expect you to listen to a representative about setting up a tour. They are very persistent even if you tell them that you are tired from the trip. Most of the staff are polite and friendly. The rooms and outside have a sewer smell.

Hotel is very nice yet not overwhelming. Multiple small buildings reduces the number of neighbors near by. One was a loud child, but not bad. Nice pools on way to beach. I liked the natural style and jungle garden. Room had a hair dryer and fridge.

This was a cute little resort. The beds are as hard as a rock though. Probably my biggest complaint. Second conplaint is compared to other resorts we have stayed at their food selections aren’t the best. We were unimpressed with the buffet and the restaurants. However their late night taco bar is probably the best food they had if you can wait that long to eat. The pool was nice, the rooms were nice. We didnt visit the beach, at this time there was a lot of seaweed but i know that can be seasonal.

The resort is not too overwhelming which I liked. All the staff were extremely friendly and super helpful. It has a beautiful view of the ocean and is in a very convenient spot if you want to walk into town. I would definitely recommend to others and would love to stay again! I definitely recommend the Italian restaurant on site, 10/10.

The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. The restaurant personnel were very concerned and knowledgeable about food allergies. The jungle atmosphere in the middle of the property is beautiful with waterfalls and the tiger wood walkways were a treat. Down to earth and family friendly with the nicest staff one could ask for!

It was a very friendly environment but was not expressed by having to talk to too many people about the activities i signed up for plus never got my gift from the spa i did and signed papers for it took me 3-4 times to tell the front desk or people in charge to get it for me as well upon arriving same thing i requested chocolate strawberry platter and a bottle of prosecco the strawberry plater looked nothing lije the picture when i added it on to my stay plan for a welcome arrival and the activities i wasnt expressed with the staff at the coco beach club there was no staff around but the manager was helpful in getting everything i asked for so will not be staying at the reef playacar in future but all the food was good drinks were good snack bar was awful overall friendly staff and the restaurants and their staff were welcoming and very hospitable. My stay was okay but definitely could improve more on requests for guests and this goes for the reef coco beach club as well. Thank you for everything and happy mothers day
