Compact room, but delivered what I needed. It’s not grand, but good value. The staff were all friendly & helpful. The whole hotel has a nice vibe. There’s a good bar downstairs with staff who are cheerful, active & engaged. Great team.

Hi there, Thank you so much fro your feedback. We only advertise as a 3* property, but we do believe that we live up to this standard. If we are appearing as 4* elsewhere then this is something we need to address! So thank you for raising this, I will notify our marketing team. I hope that you had a good time in Bristol regardless. Best wishes, Maizie

Convenient, but cold room

Pros: Comfortable beds
Cons: Radiators could be fixed and shower pressure improved. Organisation of breakfast could be improved, including clear instructions to new guests.
Location: Convenient for Clifton area and central Bristol. We visited the Bristol Hippodrome, SS Great Britain and the Wild Life Photography exhibition.
We booked a room with king size bed, but got two singles. The radiator didn't work, so the room was cold. The shower had low pressure. Breakfast was a little chaotic. The location was very convenient and the beds comfortable.

Dirty hotel

The room was very dirty and smelt stail. The carpet was very dirty and stained and needed changing. The pillows had yellow dribble and sweat stains all over them. The carpet in the lift should have been worning enough it was shiny and stained and the lift smells bad We did not stay. Went on to another hotel I have photos but for some reason they won't upload

The rotten fruit hotel

We arrived at the hotel only to find we had to pay £6.50 to park . We collected our key to the room . Upon opening the door we were shocked to see twin beds in a room that could only be described as a bed sit . There was a bowl of fruit with a card saying " Eat Me " . I chose the tangerine only to find it was rotten underneath . I immediately went to reception to complain . They informed me the Manager would speak to me in a minute . 15 minutes I waited . I explained that the room was sub standard to what was advertised on their web site . He informed me that they were going to carry out a refurbishment program later in the year . I mentioned that the fruit had gone off . He apologized and said fruit was put into the rooms on a daily basis . I explained that my wife as I were unhappy with the standard of the hotel and fruit that was presented on arrival . I asked for a refund . He agreed and said the money would be put back on my wife's card within a couple of days . It has now been 11 days since this was confirmed and we have still not received a refund .

Small and friendly

Pros: Pleasant feel
Cons: The partition walls are plasterboard and you can hear the TV and people talking in the next room
Location: 10-15 minute walk into Bristol and to Clifton suspension bridge, shops and places to eat close by
Nice comfortable, clean room, friendly, helpful staff, excellent breakfast

Don't be fooled by the name Executive Room! It is tiny and you can barely move, having to negotiate between the wall, the chair and your suitcase to access the bathroom. Running water...yes, but even when the tap is turned off. Ventilation, yes, the windows don't shut. Yours for £90 a night! It is student accommodation, but not at student price.

Everything was satisfactory.

It's an old-fashioned building that could do with a lick of paint places but but is fundamentally well maintained and comfortable. It's very clean and the staff do a really good job. This hotel provides proper coffee and loose-leaf tea in the rooms, which is great, but my only quibble is they didn't give us a separate tea pot or tea strainer.
