The hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment. My room was truly awful: broom cupboard, terribly hot in summer, no air conditioner, furniture falling apart.

My stay was relocated to The Berkeley Hotel, about 15 minutes walk away. First to say the check in and staff were very good. Was booked into a single room, which I was moved from because the shower only sent out scolding hot water. The rooms are very dated and the bathrooms are very worn and old. My 2nd bedroom had an awful mattress and the curtains didn't fully close. Had 3 terrible sleeps there. Die to the virus, no room cleaning takes place unless requested. I requested twice and to have extra milk, but it was never done. The view from the back rooms look over to a dirty and messy hotel storage area. Certainly would not be staying at The Berkeley again, but the Rodney will hopefully be available next time.

Nice independent hotel with great breakfast.

Staff and breakfast were great. Location is convenient in one of the nicest parts of Bristol. Rooms are ok sized with all amenities, if a bit worn around the edges. Bathroom needed updating, but everything was working properly. Excellent Wifi coverage and speeds.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly, and the comfort and cleanliness were faultless. The hotel is a charming and characterful old building very much in keeping with the area, which is one of the most attractive in Bristol.

Pleasant house and residential surroundings.

Pros: Charm, residential area, bus and taxis just in front, excellent staff
Cons: My single room was really tiny, and I wish there had been an armchair instead of just a chair. The TV set had a very small screen and was rather old.
Location: THE suspension bridge first, and many of the important places (Wills Memorial, Cabot Tower, Bristol Museum & Art Gallery) are within walking distance.
I LOVED Bristol. Just their bus system is incomprehensible to me.
