This hotel was absolutely immaculate, from the front desk to the cleanliness of the room to the lovely fragrance throughout the lobby and all the floors. No attention to detail was missed. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again!

I loved the location, in the heart of the Art Deco area, which I really wanted to see. The Cardozo itself is a lovely example of Art Deco, although it doesn’t celebrate that inside. We had issues with the television in our first room, unable to get it off the food channel. After a day of unsuccessful attempts to fix it, we were moved to a huge suite with two tvs, only one of which worked. We came to understand there were network issues, and that the hotel was aware of them before we arrived, so it seems they could have been more upfront and quicker to offer us a new room. I am also pretty unhappy with the $35/ night resort fee charged by the hotel, on top of pretty high nightly fees. A few such as this should only be charged if people actually use the extras provided, which didn’t happen in our case. The manager did remove one of the fees because of the tv problem, but we still got stuck paying the extra fee for the second day, in spite of cold and rainy weather that kept us from the beach and the bikes. Other than that, there were some silly plumbing oddities that could be improved; a lack of hot water and weird fixtures that barely work could be forgiven because of the age of the hotel, but the place has been fully upgraded inside so the issues make little sense. And one cheap fix - when you’re this close to a sandy beach, it would be great to have a broom in the room! Yes, my complaints are pretty trivial, but you really expect better when the place costs a lot.

No outlets near the bed, or bedstand, so difficult to charge phone at night. Cramped bathrooms. Very basic rooms. Thin walls. Stayed for four nights, only had my room cleaned once even though I asked repeatedly to have my room cleaned. Cleaning staff were extremely loud in the hallways and would wake me up around 8am. The Hotel has a great history, and a a great location. But the level of service, and the value for money simply isnt there. Much better options nearby.
