This stay was incredibly disappointing & stressful for my family. We arrived excited only to find multiple areas of the home unclean and unsanitary. The sofas & kitchen chairs were so dirty that we could not use them at all. Traveling with children, including a toddler, this was heartbreaking, as she couldn’t understand why she wasn’t allowed to sit or relax in the home we were temporarily living in. Despite paying a cleaning fee, I had to purchase cleaning supplies and clean the floors and counters myself just to make the home feel minimally livable. To make matters worse, there was an ongoing ant problem, including ants on the kitchen counters & in the bathrooms. An exterminator had to be called during our stay. When we raised these concerns, they were dismissed even after providing videos. Vrbo tried to reach the host multiple times w/o success. When contact was finally made, the host claimed she could not hear the Vrbo agent. The situation became even more concerning when the heat did not work on two of the coldest nights, with temperatures inside around 48 degrees. Despite having children our messages about the lack of heat were ignored. During a 3way call through Vrbo the host appeared irritated and made us feel like an inconvenience rather than guests needing help. We received a 70 reimbursement for 1 night without heat but it did little to offset the stress discomfort & loss of enjoyment. This experience took away from what should've been meaningful family time.
