Staff were polite and the room was clean with a comfortable bed. I had an early flight so got room service instead of going down to the restaurant. Food was nice but a little expensive. One star taken off because the door to the room had gaps all around which flooded the room with light from the hallway and impacted my sleep.

I appreciate the updating and renovations, nice touches all around the lobby and restaurant area. Would be 5 Star all around but for the awful pillows. Hard as rocks and stiff as a board. Recently stayed at another IHG property in Manchester (the Voco) that had the best pillows. Small detail but that makes or breaks a stay.

Room was occupied upon checkin. We were then given a different room which was obviously ment for someone else are there name was on the tv to welcome them. That aside we ate at the restaurant which was lovely and had an early morning flight so the room was adequate for our needs.

Our stay at the Crowne Plaza was mostly good, it did the job required and got us close to the airport before an early flight the next morning. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurants were really good, we are in the Thai restaurant, nice door and reasonably oriced. The hotel bedrooms and public corridors had been refurbished recently, in truth a quick coat of paint has been applied and not particularly well in places (hotel wardrobes didn't look good at all) there was only one small, lumpy pillow per person which wasn't great when you're there to 'relax' before travelling. Airport shuttle was great, a member of staff recommended we book it, it was on time, and a quick, fuss free way to get to our terminal
