The faded glory that is the Midland Hotel. A beautiful building, clearly the pride of Bradford once upon a time. Staff are great, building is good - of a little tired in places. Only 'better if' is I think the water in the coffee makers is too hot, giving the coffee a bit of a burnt taste.

Bedrooms are a bit tired (peeling wallpaper, old furniture, dampness around bath etc) at least the one I stayed in was. Plumbing made some strange noises if the toilet was flushed. Shower in the bath is a bit old fashioned. Main foyer etc was lovely. Breakfast not served until 8am on a Sunday was a pain..

Nicely refurbished, clean, friendly helpful service. Reception and Breakfast restaurant especially helpful. Room small-ish, but well furnished, with mini-fridge, tv, great bath/shower. Would stay again.

I would have awarded this property 4 stars but on the fourth night of my stand a loud band in the function room started rehearsing at 5 pm and then. played a great thumping beat from about until 0100 making sleep impossible. Intending guests should carefully consider this before booking.
