A wonderful Hotel

Pros: The relaxing ambience around the Hotel
Such a lovely place to go to when you wish to unwind and have some quality time with nice surroundings. The staff are very efficient and pleasant. Check in/check out very quickly done. Included Mulled Wine on December 23rd was lovely and much appreciated. Breakfast was great.

Great hotel for a weekend stay.

Great hotel and excellent quality of service. Rooms great quality for size, specification and cleanliness. Swimming pool good, but a little small. Hopefully they will introduce no photographs at the pool as there were some ladies taking lots of pics while we were there regardless of the fact our children were in shot. Also great hotel for pets. Friendly and loads of walks available.

A disappointing stay

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Location: Location is good. GoI'd acess to Bamburgh Castle and the coast and the A1
Lovely old hotel. We were allocated a room above the dinning room. Unfortunately, the noise from the frequently used door from the dinning room could be heard in our bedroom. It stopped using going to sleep until late 11.30pm. The noise started again at 6.30am and prevented us sleeping. The telephone in the room was out if order so I had to get dressed to complain you the staff. We wanted to dine at 8pm but we're unable to eat until 8.30pm. We ordered, however the food arrived without the vegetables. We had to ask the staff to locate the vegetables. We also had to chase up our wine order. I complained to the duty manager, however he didn't show much interest in my complaint although he sa8d that he would looking into my complaint. I haven't heard from him since.

Almost perfect !

Lovely large and comfortable country house. Tastefully decorated with attention to details. Food excellent. Grounds and walks enjoyable. Only small complaints re slow service at breakfast and the presence of large moths in our room !

great place to stay

Pros: location,amenities and staff, nothing was too much effort.
Cons: spa bath not working in bedroom.
Location: visited Alnwick Castle nearby, had a fabulous day out.
Staff VERY helpful and polite, lovely room and good breakfast. Would definitely stay again.
