Handy hotel for Derby rail station, with an easy walk into the centre. Friendly staff, particularly HK, and a clean comfortable room. Would happily return the next time I stay in Derby.

Himanshu and the lady on reception were very nice and helpful, only down side was the area the other hotels are being used for other reasons!!!!, night time outside was not good I was back before dark, but location is good for city and train station

Perfect for our stay in derby, we were roadside, next to the pelican so a bit noisy until early hours. Breakfast was ok, food hot and no waiting for anything. Downside, lift was broken so not great for restricted mobility. Thankfully I was ok today.

I stayed here with my son for 2 nights. I picked this hotel because it was across the road from the train station and a 10 minute walk from the town centre. We were generally happy with our stay at the hotel. The only thing we were disappointed in was that the lift was broken while we were there so I had to carry out suitcase upstairs. I was physically fit to do this but I think that some older people/unfit people would struggle with this. We also had breakfast at the hotel which we enjoyed as it was buffet style with a good selection of food to choose from. The staff were also helpful

Not as good as it used to be

This has always been my go to hotel when staying in Derby. The hotel has changed, gone are the friendly staff that made you feel like you were staying with old friends, new manager is surly and has no clue how to deal with difficult customers. Why wld you run a hotel if you don't like people? Advertised 2pm check in has changed to 3pm and don't expect any compassion if you turn up early. Have seen in real life that the online complaints re misterious cancellations that have no notification is true, happened to 3 ladies in front of me checking in. Car parking charges are new very expensive mine cost £18 as I was attending a local event. My room - new door lock system is overly complicated and means you have to carry a piece of paper w you to remind you of the pin number as well as plastic card for room electrics. My room whilst on the ground floor was accessed via very steep stairs that needs two stair rails not just 1 provided. My king sized deluxe room was though lovely, microwave fridge loads of milk sachets corner bath decent shower. Quite a hard bed. No accessible electric sockets near bed. Huge TV with only a few channels that actually work. Expect Street noise.

Breakfast issue

I stop here very often and fair play its had a brush up and polish in the past year or so, friendly staff to greet you. The only issue i have is breakfast. I rarely fancy a full english nor am i a lover of continental. Just juice and toast does me but they dont do that. You have to pay for a continental £8.99 as there is no lower price button on the till. Most annoying.

Newly refurbished comfortable rooms

We atayed for 5 nights in a King room that had a sofa, fridge and TV. The room was obviously fairly recently refurbished and was pretty clean. It was great for us as we had plenty of space in the room. Bed was comfortable. It’s in a central location, 10 minute walk to shopping centre and there are a few nearby pubs. There was parking at the back but be aware you have to pay for this. We had a really great trip and it was very affordable.

I have previously stayed at this hotel and found it to be reasonably good value, on this occasion all seemed okay after key card hand over. When reaching the room doors I found that I was unfamiliar with how it worked but soon realised that you have to swipe the card then press a button to reveal keyboard to unlock door and gain entry. Having gained entry and just about to settle we found that my wife and myself were in the wrong room. I think it was the man on reception gave us the wrong key as the one we had would not open the room we had been allocated.
