Lovely hotel just outside Harrogate centre

The hotel was a short 10minute walk into Harrogate, plenty of onsite parking at £8 per day. The reception area, bar and restaurant are very nice and modern. Family was large and spacious and the bathroom clean and tidy. The only downside to the hotel is that the room did not have air conditioning. We did have 2 windows which opened, but only slightly, and with no breeze outside it was a warm night. The fire alarm went off, just after 6.30am, which although is not the fault of the hotel, did mean we were awake very early after a late night!

Restaurant was expensive and food was average for the price asked for mayo for my fries and some white stuff came but it didn’t look or taste like mayo !! Also they automatically add a service charge to your bill over all a poor experience They also charge for parking which I think on top of £146 for DB&B is a little cheeky

We've stay here several times over a number of years and normally I would have given a higher rating but this it is marked down due to two issues:- a) No orange juice at breakfast on both mornings - they ran out. Why couldn't they just someone down to a shop and bought some more? b) We reported that the TV was working on the first morning of a 2 day stay. The screen said that the aerial was disconnected. Still not working when we checked out the following day AND no explanation as to why from the staff.

The rooms were too warm. Couldnt sleep as it was too hot. Radiators were not on. The noise from builders was inexcusable. 8 a.m work started on a Saturday. The building was shaking. They were either using a kango for getting concrete off the walls. Or a road breaker. We checked out at 9.30 a.m no breakfast couldnt get out fast enough. The man on the desk said im sorry that was it. We were there for a wedding the day before. Had we been notified of the work we could have stayed else where. I will be contacting cedar court hotel. 2 niggles. Firstly the bedrooms were extremely hot even with the windows left open. I dislike paying extra to park my car - the booking sites should make this clear before hand and customer would then be able to avoid this unnecessary surprise on arrival.

Expected better.

Keycards didnt work by the time we got to the room but fixed quickly. Bathroom fan didnt work. Stains on the carpet and marks on the walls. Room was hot despite cooler weather, needed the window open but was directly above entrance on 1st floor so disturbed by voices and peoples smoke so had to close the window, very uncomfortable. Sorry. Can't say about facilities which looked good.

Comfortable break

We were just visiting our son in Harrogate & were fine just for the weekend. However, my husband suffers from Parkinson's & I have Osteoporosis so comfortable seating is really important to both of us. I would suggest that a further comfortable chair could be made available by request, at possibly a small charge, for longer stays.

A great place to stay in Harrogate

I really enjoyed my stay at the Cedar Court Hotel. I had a very comfortable room with a very good bathroom. The breakfasts were excellent and a lovely room to have breakfast in as a good start to the day. The staff were very welcoming and helpful on arrival. I would definitely look at booking again at the Cedar Court Hotel when next visiting Harrogate.

Beautiful hotel, elegantl decor throughout and comfy beds (which is always important). Room was warm as we stayed in the middle of a heatwave but decent fan provided. Top tip: if you are tall, you may wish to request a room on a lower floor as the sloping ceiling on the 4th floor was a bit of a challenge.

Best part was checking out

Upon check in we paid for an upgrade to a superior room with a garden view. We also paid for parking until check out the following morning. We got our key and went to the room, the room was stifling, so went over to see if could open the window more, but could not, it was then we saw this was definitely not a garden view, was dirty flat roof behind hotel sign, although the room was roomy it was not superior, ALL the walls were filthy, scuffed and marked, peeling and so was the carpet. I went down and asked if could move and was met with a snappy “well what’s wrong then”, as I proceeded to say the walls and carpet were filthy and not garden view we had just paid extra for, more people arrived and I was cut off with “well I’ll go check another 2 rooms the same superior”. I waited around then the lady appeared with “ we have one same a superior with garden view you can have”, and pushed keys across the desk to us like we had done something wrong. Second room was a lot smaller and hot but found a fan and overlooked carpark, mouldy grout and dirty floors and door frames, mildew on window frames, stained chairs. Slept on top of bed as was shattered and didn’t want to interact with the rude receptionist again. Restaurant looked nice, had a drink from the bar which was nice. Outside is deceiving as looks lovely compared to the interior rooms we saw. We were not the only ones to swap rooms when there.
