Property is very tatty/shabby. Our superior room had torn, stained curtains and peeling window frames. Pub smell on entering. Staff very friendly, efficient and helpful. Food good with a varied menu.

Loved it ,everything in the room you might need was there, bed and pillows comfy We dined there and the service was quick and food just how you want it and hot . We loved the history of the building and we would love to go again soon hopefully

Property a historic one, so inside and out reflects this...needs some tlc and a bit of thought for less able like grab rails in the bathroom. Our room was clean and quiet, a fan had been put in and duvets removed because it was so hot, very thoughtful. Staff were pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was lovely with lots of choice. We would stay there again.

Unfortunately, the hotel is well past its prime and needs a complete refurb. Shame, as it's a nice building and conveniently located in the town centre. Staff are excellent, though, and the food is OK.

As soon as we walked in the front door wanted to leave,there was scaffolding all up the stairs and when we got to our room it was unreal the floor was not safe for older people it was like it had a hill in the middle. They shouldnt be letting rooms at the prices they are asking when in the middle of a major refurbishment and the breakfast wasnt worth the £12.50 they charged could av got better just up the road at weatherspoons for half the price.i would recommend steering clear till all the works have been done .
