Comfortable hotel for quick layovers @ Heathrow

Older hotel close to Heathrow terminal 5. Hotel has 2 floors but no elevator. Layout of the buildings is a giant maze got lost several times. Nice that it has a bar / restaurant as the only other nearby food is McDonald’s and the stuff in the airport. Easy transport to terminal 5 using the pod service but you have to pay for it each way (was 8£ at time). Restaurant has decent selection of food bar has same menu but is limited during lunch service. From the bar they want you to order via QR code on website for food but you can’t order any non-alcoholic drinks (ie a coke) from the site so have to order that at the bar anyway. The email receipt from the site came back as from the hard rock not from thistle. Rooms are a bit dated inside but AC worked great and bed was comfortable. Nice view of the arrivals of airplanes from the restaurant/bar on the deck. Has a small kiosk in the lobby to buy drinks and snacks but was pricey

It was very convenient for somewhere to crash between flights, the access to the hotel via the Pods was quick and convenient. Some of the interiors were a little bit tired, and the walls were pretty thin, so not great if you're a light sleeper

Nice hotel

Great for an overnight stay at LHR. Easy to get to (using the instructions on the Thistle website), via the Pods. Very comfortable bed and pillows, clean room that is soundproof and has blackout curtains. Perfect before a flight.

I booked the Thistle because of its close proximity to Terminal 5, and I was so pleasantly surprised. From Arrivals, the Pods transport is super easy and quick. I was able to do early check in, and my room was very clean, large, and had everything I needed. I did not take advantage of the restaurant, but it’s available for breakfast and dinner. Getting into London was easy— a 5 min Pod ride back to Terminal 5, and catch the Underground. I will definitely book the Thistle again.
