Loved going to this hotel for the first time. Very nice room facilities 1st class. Food was excellent. Lovely out look over the country side. Would go again.

Exceeded our expectations after a last minute booking. So close to everything and lovely grounds to sit in and enjoy a drink or a snack. Rooms were spacious and very well equipped. Would definitely recommend.

Throughly enjoyed our stay at the Talbot, it's a unique venue with excellent facilities and staff. The food was great, as were the views and surrounding area. Quite a few shops and restaurants in Malton are closed on Monday, so that's worth taking into account. It didn't detract for our stay though. We will be returning.

An Anniversary Celebration

We came to celebrate our Diamond Wedding Anniversary here having stayed in 1965 as newlyweds. The hotel has been completely updated and our room( no.3) was luxurious. The comfortable bed was more than 6' wide and the bathroom huge with walk-in shower plus roll top bath We took our toy poodle with us who was welcomed by all the staff. The food was fantastic and very plentiful. The dog could stay with us for every meal if we desired. All in all a fantastic stay. All the staff from the Manager to housekeeping were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.

Relaxing stay in Malton

We stayed in a lovely spacious room with a couch, a large bathroom with bath and walk in shower on the ground floor. We had breakfast every morning with fresh coffee and a freshly cooked breakfast. We dined in the hotel every evening. The evening menu cared for our needs and the staff were very good.

Great Hotel, Brilliant staff

Fabulous hotel on the edge of Malton. Room was huge with a great view over the gardens and river, though if you get room 11 or 12 its a bit hidden away and not properly signed from the staircase. Highlight of the stay was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was professional , courteous and surprisingly all local

The bedrooms were well-decorated and characterful- definitely not motel style. The communal areas were charmingly set out and very comfortable. The atmosphere was true to the hotel’s past history and staff were exceptionally polite and accommodating.

Great getaway

Lovely night at The Talbot as we were at an event at The Cook’s Place. The room was bright, airy and spacious, and staff all willing to help. Breakfast was delicious. We’ll definitely choose to stay again.
