The bedroom was cosy and warm although rather dusty.
I wanted to have a shower, but the bathroom
( which was in another area) was very cold.
I stood in the shower for several minutes freezing until I realised there was no hot water.
I didn’t want to use the coffee machine because I thought it might not be clean. I lifted the leaver and an old coffee pod dropped into the bottom chamber which had lots of liquid residue so my assumption was correct it hadn’t been cleaned.
Fantastic location right in the heart of town though. Car park was full so I had to drive around a few times but was lucky enough to get a space in the end.
We decided to have breakfast elsewhere because the buffet was probably the worst choice / selection we’ve ever seen at a hotel for that price, although the full English sounded reasonable.

Everything was perfect apart from the shower which was tiny and difficult to use. It also overflowed on to the floor so I had to use all the towels to mop up the water. The rest of my stay was excellent.

Brilliant breakfast. Cosy, clean room. Great location for catching a train.
The room was spotless and the staff was very efficient and helpful. For our first visit to the Cotswolds. Food was excellent and the Wild Mushroom pie was incredible.

The receptionist was surly and rude to another member of staff in front of us. The room smelt musty as they need a window in the bathroom (not sure why they had to cover it up), woken by the council recycling truck collecting and dumping the glass bottles from the large bins. As room 14 is in the yard area, we experienced builders and the bin men from 8am. Only good thing as the bed was comfy. BUT Would not recommend
A very good Pub and Stay. The staff were very helpful and informative throughout. The room was very good except for lack of heating in the lounge area and the towel rail in the bathroom was never working. But the rooms were in good condition and kept clean and well serviced etc. We only had 1 evening meal but they were excellently cooked and good choices for all and as previous the staff were very good. Parking was a bit tight but we got a spot 👍

The hotel is in a great location in a lovely old building. I would describe the carpeting in the lobby and the bedrooms as shabby. The hotel was experiencing a problem with the Plumbing while we were there so that there was no water. The situation was fixed by the time we left. The restaurant and bar are fine if you are a dog lover. There were lots of dogs, especially in the bar. The hotel has potential but needs some TLC.
The private car park is to the rear of the building, but was full when we arrived, so we used on street parking in front of the hotel, which is only restricted until 6pm. The room was small, clean and tidy, but the
We booked an upgraded King room, which did not include breakfast despite the high price. My wife liked the place a lot because we had the upgraded room which included the small courtyard and two comfortable chairs. It was clean and comfortable. The walk to Stow on the Wold from Moreton on Marsh is fantastic.
Managed to park in the hotel car park which was good. Staff friendly and helpful. Prompt service in bar. Menu a bit limited and said there was a bar menu but this wasnt advertised inside. Beeakfast menu not as good as last year and sausages weren't nice so must have changed since last year
Excellent staff/service. Every experience with the staff was 5 star. Truly wonderful stay, although we wish we’d realized our radiator was on the first day we arrived, as we had to keep our portable cooler running whenever we were in the room to not be too warm. We realized it was on at the lowest setting as we were packing up to leave.
Really liked the location and staff (Georgia, "Dan"). The room was in the older part of the hotel. Recently updated but still had the old building settling. Ok for us but this may matter to other travelers so specify which part of the hotel you want. Convenient for train and bus lines. We did all our excursions using either. We ate in the pub every night since the staff, environment and food were outstanding.
A nice hotel in a very convenient location. Bar and restaurant service was slow, perhaps due to being short staffed. Biggest problem was lack of water pressure in all 3 of our rooms. Toilets barely flushed, and bathing was impossible. We were assured several times that a solution was “imminent,” but nothing was done. Hotel staff offered minimal apologies and no compensation.
