Ww liked everything, especially the restaurant food and breakfast eggs cooked to order. We would have liked a more cost coffee lounge/bar area.

Lovely public rooms and indoor pool. Excellent views and great location for Newquay and Fistral Beach, golf club and headland walks. Breakfast was the same every day but good quality and variety. Eggs and pancakes made to order. We had a double room with a balcony which was lovely but seagulls and their mess spoilt it a little. Staff very friendly and helpful. Some rooms have been updated with new bathrooms others are a little dated and needed cosmetic details like new shower door seals and sealant round the bath. The TV didn’t work for a couple of days due to an aerial problem. Overall a goid break in a comfortable hotel.

Beautiful hotel

Pros: It had everything you need.
Cons: I don't think you could.
Location: The location is brilliant ,you don't have far to walk to the town and the beach.
The hotel is beautiful and the staff bent over backwards for you .The reason we went to the hotel was that it was our 20th wedding anniversary.

Great view from balcony

Lovely staff, friendly and helpful, Xmas lunch excellent. Very disappointed that Kitchen refused to make us a sandwich at teatime as we felt we couldn't justify paying £35 each for a buffet which we could not eat after such a great lunch. May have been useful to know that room service would not be available on Xmas day. Leather sofa in room very uncomfortable, kept slipping of it.

Disappointing

Pros: Good location
Cons: See "Experience" comments
Location: Good access to Newquay town centre. Nice headland walks
The hotel is advertised as dog friendly but this is superficial. Dogs are not allowed in the main hotel building, apart from reception and a small area off reception with no facilities. Our room was in an annexe accessed by a rather grubby pathway, down steps and through a security coded door, which would not shut due to warping, and banged all night in the notorious winds. The room had only been superficially cleaned. The skirtings were dusty and the shower base and main windows had mildew deposits. We attempted to complain via the room phone but this was not working. When we complained at reception they said it would be thoroughly cleaned the following day and the phone would be fixed. We also complained that the "free" wifi was not working in our room. Although they claimed to have reported this to the appropriate people it remained unavailable throughout our 4 day stay. We cannot comment on the spa facilities as we did not use them, primarily because the proximity of our annexe to the main building required being fully clothed against the weather to visit the spa rather than robes and slippers. Similarly we did not eat at the hotel as there were no dog friendly bar or food areas. We did visit, and would recommend, the nearby Headland Hotel. This fine looking building genuinely welcomes guests and their 4 legged friends.

Disappointed

Very disapointed at having to write a bad review for this hotel. On arrival we were left waiting around for 20 minutes as the receptionist had to go and show someone to his room, even though she had already began our check in. She failed to pass us on to any other member of staff and just left us stood there. Once we managed to find our own room we were really impressed with the view. The sea view request was definitely met. However, the room was in desperate need of a new lick of paint. Very far away from the word luxury. Our bed was a king size. Was actually two singles which zip together. The bedding didn't quite fit so our first night was an uncomfortable one. Rolling into the middle of the bed all night ,I believe, due to the metal arms not being secured properly. At 6.50am I had to go to reception to try and request it to be sorted out for the following evening. I was told there should of been a mattress topper which would prevent this. Nothing seemed to of been done by 2pm..so I had to visit reception again. I was told a topper had been put on. It hadnt. A mattress protection sheet had been put on which again didn't fit. I had a call around 630 pm whereby they offered us a new room. A suite. This meant we could have a bed which wasn't like the other "zip and link" style beds they have in the majority of their rooms. They moved us. This meant we had a double bed. But the room was so disappointing. We completely lost our airy room with a view. There was no window

Short break in Cornwall

Location: Location is great as there are lovely walks and beaches nearby plus plenty of bars and restaurants.
Hotel is in a great location with lovely sea views and only a short stroll into town. Although the main areas of the hotel are lovely the outside needs some attention. The room allocated was not very clean so we were upgraded to one with a balcony. Although this room was clean on the inside, the windows were dirty and there was grass and algae growing on the balcony so obviously hadn't been cleaned in months. Breakfast was excellent and staff were pleasant and helpful.
