Staff were lovely. Room and en-suite were clean, good towels, queen bed. Breakfast was fine. This is a budget hotel and was of a good standard. But sadly not great to be woken by a loud voice and booming music at 6am from the spinning class at the private sports club gym club adjoining the building.

Yes the room was clean. The staff freindly. BREAKFAST very good. The bar was good Apart from no diet coke served or any diet drinks. Told they had mushroom soup. When the soup it was chicken soup. I hate chicken.

Good room and a good property however on the website it advertises “Full access to a David Lloyd Leisure Club next door is available for a fee”. It turned out that this wasn't being offered to guests due to a pause in their contract with David Lloyd. Whilst this is a temporary pause, this should not be on the Holiday Inn Express website.

Internet slow and unreliable, especially the 'house' network. Not enough shelving in bathroom, no hooks in bathroom, no drawers in bedroom, bedside tables too small, toilet blocked on last day. Heating unresponsive to changes made on the controls. Single quilts very narrow for the beds, no overhang. No prepared fresh fruit, no fruit knives for unprepared fruit. Buffet area badly designed, too small, congested. Many tables seated 4, but often with only 1 or 2 people seated at each, leading to a shortage of tables when busy. Absence of written information in the room, eg, the option for 'no room service', food menu for evening meals. Room was clean. Saw very few staff, but all were polite. Workmen on the roof directly outside the room window before our check out time. Am concerned that no one will respond or deal with these comments.

The link between hotels and holiday inn needs improving - i booked a twin for two people, they only got info saying it was for one person, the first two rooms they gave me were double beds. Once that confusion was cleared up it was all fine.
