It was a return visit to the hotel for us, our first since it was bought by current group. Our room had obviously been refurbished faitly recently to a high standard. Comfy bed, small but with everything you need, likewise the bathroom. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast tasty and plentiful. A la carte dinner menu disappointing, not much choice there, so we ate elsewhere. Otherwise, tick VG!

Initial room smelt of cigarettes, reported it to reception and was given a new room, without a problem. We have stayed many times and always enjoyed it. Unfortunately the room No'18 was above the rear outside smoking area, and was quite noisy at 1.30am !! We reported this to the night porter and he sorted it straight away.. Thank you. If you require an early night do not stay in this room. Fortunately we did not go to bed until 1.15 am.
