This is a budget accommodation so if you adjust your expectations accordingly, you should be okay. These are rooms above a pub so if you need to go to sleep before midnight, this property is not for you, unless you’re a heavy sleeper (we were there Friday through Monday and Saturday was the only reasonably quiet night). The en-suite bathroom was also too small for comfortable movement.

Brand new little cabin in the pub grounds. Was spacious and clean, lovely shower, loads of hot water although shower tray was quite shallow so water spilt out onto rest of bathroom floor & bath mat got very wet. Comfortable bed. Only two channels available on smart tv and no wi-fi, so couldn’t connect to Netflix or Amazon but I know they’re still finishing the cabins, so I guess this will be added in due course. There didn’t appear to be any form of heating other than a small fan heater which was quite noisy, so didn’t have it on whilst sleeping, which meant the cabin was quite cold & damp by morning. Apart from these minor issues it was good nights stay.

Short stop at the pirate inn

Hassle free stay, lively pub does good looking food, i was too late arriving though was offered an evening meal.convenient for me as have a daughter living in Penzance and cost is a big fator for me. Can come and go at any hour.

. The inn is only about 10 minutes walk from the town centre and 15 minutes from the sea front. The rooms were spotless and there was plenty of toiletries and tea, biscuits etc provided. We managed to get something to eat there on the first night despite it being busy and near closing time for the kitchen. It was also nice to have a nightcap in the bar before a two minute walk up the stairs to bed. We shall definitely make this a regular stop off when passing through Penzance.

I liked the fact that the staff were very happy and helpful. The only small fault I found was that the shower had developed a little leak I reported it and it was seen to. Outside of this minor thing I will book again next time I come back to Penzance 🕉️

great.

we were sposed to be out by 1 but left at 12 - blame the gf but the proprieter was more polite than i woul have been. i just mention this as the attitud of the owners - just friendly - so thanks and sorry ? im bit of a cheapo and so accordingly was the room - so i wasnt expecting much and got more than i bargained. must be very hard to keep an old pirate house shipshape overall plesaed.

Comfy bed

It was very comfortable except i couldnt move in the shower room. I thought i had booked B&B and asked before i paid. She said yes but in fact they dont do breakfast. Also had to pay on arrival, which meant i couldnt change venue. However, we were comfortable in bed and warm after 8.30am when the heating came on.
